Protesting is never over. That was just the large American Civil Rights Movement, and now the world is going through another Civil Rights Movement.

He did try and succseed in stopping some of it, but not forever, people have gone back to being racist and people with caring, loving hearts will protest against racism.

I think you're a bit confused :p

The Black Lives Matter movement is said to be protesting racism against African-Americans (and racism in general, but mainly focusing on the racism against Black people). Martin Luther King Jr. was an activist who worked against segregation and violence due to racism. He wanted to create a world where people were not separated by their skin color. While Martin Luther King Jr. did help to stop things like segregated schools, bathrooms, etc. and more, racism is still a problem in society today. People are still racist and we need to work against these people to show them how wrong they are.
