Hide profile pictures when they get reported (read whole post!)
I realised about a month ago I supported but without a reason xD.
Support, but with reason: If you report a profile picture, you usually don't want to see it again because it is bad, so it makes sense. If it includes bad things like blood or something and you don't want to see any blood then it would be hidden.
If you happen to want to take a screenshot of their profile page but their PFP is bad, then you can report it, then take the screen shot, and not need to blur it out.
However, that does mean that someone might report a PFP just because they don't want to blur it out and they just want it hidden… so that is a potential con.

I did write down a partial solution for that in OP; you can find it in the last question of the FAQ.

Wow, that actually answers that pretty well.

The forum search bar was removed because it was broken and no-one knew how to fix it. Why are you comparing it to something that would help hide disturbing content?psychological issues, my friend. Of course people can get scared twice.“But they've already seen it. You can't really get scared twice.” - There is a thing called forgot about that
Yes, you've got a point there. It doesn't do much though, they removed the forum search bar, I don't think they're gonna bother adding something as little as this.

Bump. Found this while searching for something else about profile pics, saw the title and thought of the default profile picture :P I give my support… but…
This is my problem. Why do comments get hidden when someone reports it then? And why do projects get taken down if they get mass-reported? Scary pfp's for people with disabilities is one issue, but it isn't the only issue. It could be something inappropriate that should be hidden from everyone… but this way it would be too easy to false-report. I think that once a person's pfp gets a certain number of reports, then it gets hidden from everyone, like how mass-reported projects get taken down. I don't think anyone knows the number of reports it takes to get a project taken down, so I won't know how many would be right this time either. But until that number is reached, any reports should be hidden from view for the reporters only.you, everyone else can still see the inappropriate content. But it's going to get moderated anyway! It's just the “Report” button - even now, if a pfp gets reported, others can see the inappropriate content! It just gets blocked for the user that reported it - this doesn't improve or worsen it anyhow! And if it only gets hidden for

Nice idea, I'll add that to the main post.
Thanks for suggesting!

I don't think we need the horrible plague of mass-reporting and developer neglect of an outdated system to seep into another part of the site. This is my problem. Why do comments get hidden when someone reports it then? And why do projects get taken down if they get mass-reported? Honestly, I don't see scary profile pictures that much, and when I do, it's not something that I'm going to regularly see.
Now I know that this may not apply to others, but I just don't think this will get implemented. It feels a little nit-picky and would probably not be used all that much.

Bump, this is a suggestion that I made a long while back and I would like for it to be brought up again, as I still believe this should be implemented.
