I almost never read the “What's Happening” section, and even if I did, I would likely miss messages about new shared projects. One of the reasons somebody follows a Scratcher is so they can get notified when they post a project.

This could be solved with a button that turns on or off notifications for the Scratcher, kind of like the notification bell that appears if you subscribe to a channel on YouTube.

What would this do? Well, if notifications for a user are on, you'd get a message in your messages whenever somebody posts a project. For example, let's say I follow alphabetica because they create pretty fun projects. I love their projects so I would turn on notifications by clicking a bell next to the follow button. Now, next time they share a project, I'd get notified from my messages.
