Featuring older projects on the Scratch home page..."Blast from the Past" panel suggestion
I have noticed recently that just about any new project that is “featured” on the scratch home page, can almost instantly get
thousands of views, and hundreds of comments. There are HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of older projects from previous years with Scratch,
that are amazing, but are not visible to new Scratchers. If any of these was posted as a NEW project on the FEATURED PROJECT panel, probably there would be thousands of additional views.
This is a puzzling problem. You want new projects and you want to reward new Scratchers for their amazing creativity. But, it seems odd that
some very simple project (that foften will have a popular music track that is not the property of the Scratcher who posted the project) will get so much visibility, but other totally original projects from earlier times will just basically never be seen again by the Scratch community.
Perhaps there should be a “Blasts from the Past” panel on the Scratch homepage that features outstanding Scratch projects from years past, that no one ever sees anymore, because either the Scratcher is inactive, or because the project has simply been forgotten, but is definitely worthy of
continued attention, especially by new Scratchers.
Thanks for reading.

“Anymore” seems to be the functional word here.
It already had its turn, now someone else. That's how life should work.
And you have no idea how hard it is for the community to forget outstanding projects… They can get views for years and years to come.

I see a bunch of scratchers support this idea…Now how does it get implemented?

The Scratch Team has to actually approve of it and program it and stuff. It doesn't just happen. I see a bunch of scratchers support this idea…Now how does it get implemented?
