On the Scratch wiki page for User Icons, it warns readers not to use a picture of a face for their safety. The Scratch Team also remove face reveals in projects

I suggest that when a user icon is uploaded to Scratch, a face detector should run. If it detects one, it will prevent the user from using it and tells the user not to use their face (or any face in general, even ones that are not theirs) as an icon.

The only con to this I know is that it might be triggered by faces of fictional peoples' faces.

Semi-support. In a perfect world, this would be very helpful, but I've seen many a face detector go wrong…

Example A:
Google maps censors out The KFC Man logo.

Example B:
Faceswap apps constantly mistake people's noses for faces. (Just search cursed Faceswaps)

Who's to say if they can mistake non-face things for faces they can't do vice versa?

What if it's not your face? What if it's your favourite singer, for example?
And I don't think that we can whitelist every possible celebrity…

To add on to this, which celebrities would get whitelisted if this was to be implemented? More people become famous every day. And, What about Local Celebrities?

Be aware that, as of now, we actually do allow Scratchers to use their own face in profile pictures. Of course, it's not really encouraged that you do so, but we haven't really been removing them like we have with face reveals.
