I've imported a sound into Scratch, and I want to trim it to make a MAP, but it won't work. The trim function works at first, but when I press Save, nothing happens. Same with all of the buttons in the sound editor, such as Faster, Robot, Echo, etc. Can someone help?

I know right it is so annoying. When their is an intro for a song I want to post and I don't want to hear it guess what……… it doesn't let me trim it!
I just want Scratch to fix it so badly because it get's so annoying PLZ!

You will have to use a program or tool outside of Scratch to be able to compress a sound. You can use a program such as Audacity (available for Windows, Mac or Linux) which allows you to edit and export audio in a bunch of different formats and it provides more audio editing functionality than what the Scratch sound editor allows (for importing sounds into Scratch, I advise exporting the file as an MP3). There are also tools online to convert files to MP3s if you happen to be one of those people who has a Chromebook

It has to do something with encoding and too big sound files. When i edit a too big sound file that doesn't edit, the developer tools (press ctrl+shift+J) will say: ‘gui Refusing to encode sound larger than 10000000 bytes’

Same! It's not just trimming though- Whenever I import a song (and it's less than 10 mb) and try to save it, it just loads for a really long time and doesn't save! This has been going on for a while now and I haven't been able to make song projects or new projects anymore! I really hope the Scratch Team can fix this.

yeah it's annoying I think you would need to trim them in your device

it is likely cuz the sound is long.

You could use an app like TwistedWave to edit the audio, then upload it into your project.

I’m having the same issue, specifically with slowing a song. I keep doing this with having it playing in the editor, slowing it twice, and speeding it once. It goes back to normal after half a second. This is super annoying. I hope this gets fixed soon

Scratch also won't let me trim songs..

Or edit them in anyway, I don't know what's happening

My guy, I'd love to help you but I don't know how, and I don't think you should be uploading songs with bad words, even if it's censored

This has been a problem for over 2 years now and it's still not fixed. Fix this please, Scratch.
