Lego Boost is so Broken!

When I try to connect my Lego boost to scratch it says start searching but it doesn't, it just tells me to check scratch link and Bluetooth even though they are both on. Whyyyyyyyyyyy!?!?!?!

Good to know that it's not just me. I have tried everything ( based on: https://scratch.mit.edu/boost ):

I'm using the most recent version of Scratch Link (v1.3)
I'm using Windows 10 Home, version 1909
No other copy of Scratch is connected to the boost (or even running)
No other blue tooth device is connected to the Boost
The Boost is a paired device
Scratch Link is running (it even shows “1 active session” when I hover over the icon in the system tray)
I did click “Ok” when it asked for permission to get through the firewall
I've tried via both web-based and desktop versions of Scratch

Is there an error log somewhere that might have details on what it's trying to do when it fails? I didn't see anything in Windows Event Viewer.

the Lego boost app works fine on my tablet, i'm going to try getting it on my tablet but i doubt it will work. That will take time though because i have a kindle and my mom has to get google play store on it first, but i think its scratch that's messed up, not my computer or the other 3 computers i tried it on.

It works on an Android (Galaxy Tab 10.1 2016) tablet. I haven't tried a Windows 10 PC yet, shouldn't you get a special Bluetooth dongle for a PC?

Hey all,

Indeed I'm struggling with the same issue. I managed to get it up and running twice but fail to get it back up. It seems the boost hub is willing to switch to acknowledge the connection ( for a split second it turns blue ) and then it's lost again, ending in the message: “oops, something went wrong”

It's indeed very frustrating as this seems to a be a marriage of two beautiful kids-friendly introductions to programming and robotics. Any ideas how we can solve this ?

Hey,

I think I found it, same problem as mentioned on the EV3. I had to make sure all devices were unpaired on my PC settings. Then I started with a fresh set-up, NO pairing via PC settings just via scratch and lego boost block. Now it works, connects well. I've tried it 10 times, restarted 10 times and it connected 20 out of 20

Hope this works for you as well.

That's what we call a glitch or bug so try to report it on the bugs and glitches forum pages
