I just drew mine in a scratch project, exported it to downloads then put it on my profile, it's easy to do. The current way to change profile pictures is complicated and lengthy. First, you have to download pictures to the computer you are using, then go through all of your files to find it! I think it would be helpful if we could draw our profile pictures.

Hi, please don't ask topics irrelevant to this suggestion here, go ask the user on their profile if you want to. ^.^

No support.
Scratch is a coding language for beginners, not an art program where profile pictures are important. As simple as that. And also, folder management is an important skill to learn for using command line applications. The current way helps with that.

I'm sorry but no support, as many others said scratch is not an art program and the current system works just fine. As for the people who came here because they do not know exactly how to make and change a pfp this is how:
- Use any application capable of drawing an icon to make your icon. (Scratch works too)
- Export your icon as a .png , .jpg, or a .gif file.
- Go to your profile abd hover over your current profile picture, and option should appear on top that says “change” click it and then upload your image. If your icon you made does not work, that is because it is above 500kb (1/2 a megabyte) or because it is more than 500x500 pixels in demensions. To change this you can crop your icon, or resize it. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me on my profile!

I'd like to emphasize a little bit on the 500x500 pixels rule, because that's the thing that a lot of people don't understand. For the ones who don't know what pixels are, it's documented at the Scratch Wiki. 500x500 pixels means there should be 500 pixels on every side of the picture.
Sorry for going a little off-topic, just thought I had to mention this.

No Support (For now, because I don't know if I'm reading this right at all)
What you literally can do is draw the PFP, download it, and if it doesn't fit, put it in a google doc/word, make it smaller, and then put it in.

You could also insert it into MS Paint and change the horizontal and vertical values from 100 to 25.
But that's beside the point.

No support.
You can solve those problems really easily.
Want to draw it? Go to either photopea.com or use MS paint or something.
The download it.
The immediately upload it as your profile picture.
This makes it so when you sort it by time modified, you can find it at the top.
Also, you can just rename it something easy, like “ScratchPFP” and then search it later on.

No support. If you don't have an external application just do it in Scratch and take a screenshot.

No support. Sorry if this is necroposting but… since when did it become hard? I mean, you can just get MSPaint and then draw what you wanted or, screenshot something, put it in MSPaint, and crop it into 500 pixels by 500 pixels. Also, the way you described it isn't hard. Sorry if this is necroposting.

You can just go to Scratch, draw a profile picture (with the scratch editor), right click -> export and export to png.
Easy as that!
So, no support.

Wow, everyone's no supporting because of a workaround, even in 2020!
Come on, guys. Don't you know that a workaround isn't a reason to no support a suggestion?

Despite all of the no supports up there, I'm going with support. Since when has a suggestion been rejected for having a workaround?
I often find myself having trouble with maintaining the size limit, so if you could only make it a certain size in such an editor, that would really help. Plus, it makes it shorter and easier to create a profile picture. Perhaps having this an option if you still want to upload one would still be helpful, though.

Not necessarily. When deciding whether or not to implement a suggestion, the Scratch Team does not look at how many people support or not. Instead, they look at how the suggestion could improve Scratch, What would be the advantages and disadvantages, and whether or not the suggestion is worth implementing. 15 no supports…
which means it ain't gonna happen. :(
