Well, you're a bit unclear, you haven't exactly said what you've tried and what the problem is. Like, what happens when you try to upload it. Usually, if you just click the upload sprite button and then choose the file it will upload however many frames (costumes) the gif is into a bunch of sprites, which you don't want.

If you reply with more information I will likely be able to help you, take it from an artist and animator who's had to upload many, many gifs and individual frames.

First off, make sure you have it saved as an actual .gif file, not an .mdp or .webp file (or any other unsupported file type).

Next, make sure to either start a new sprite (just with the “paint” option) or use the Scratch Cat one. If you're using Scratch Cat, make sure to delete the first costume, make a new costume with the “paint” option, and delete the second Cat costume. Then click the “upload costume” button and select your gif (you must have previously saved it to your pc/device).

It should upload every individual frame into a new costume. Delete the first costume, in which you made by using the “paint costume” tool. To make it move just put a “forever” loop (or however long you want it to last) around the blocks “wait ___ seconds” “next costume”.

Hope I helped, and remember that the clearer you are in your topic, the more help will come!

If it's 88 MB it isn't going to work.
