Sphero and Scratch Partnership?

(Note: This is my first post )

My suggestion for Scratch is for a Sphero Extension. This would allow Scratchers to make projects with Sphero Robots and incorporate them into games and other Scratch skills. Sphero and Scratch are both great resources, and I feel that a collaboration between the two could provide an awesome educational experience. @Scratchteam, I hope you take this into consideration!

Sphero and Scratch Partnership?

I'm pretty sure this belongs in Developing Scratch Extensions.

However, I found a lot of duplicates scattered around:
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/278902/
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/365015/
https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/342965/

Please check for duplicates before making suggestions. That way, the conversation sticks in one place, rather than being scattered across the forums like they are right now.

Nice! Thanks for finding duplicates… I suppose this would fit in either category, though. I really hope the Scratch Team approves of this suggestion!

It does but nothing with graphics… with a collaboration between the two companies, Sphero could fill in for Scratch's weaknesses and vice versa, with this extension.

Yeah it does - and it's based on Scratch, I believe.

Thank you for your reply! It's definitely not based on Scratch, put coding blocks aside and source code stuff, they are completely different things. I use Sphero mostly for its text editor.

They may consider it, but if there are one or more duplicates (remember the ones I linked to!) then you're supposed to continue the conversation there, so that the conversation sticks in one place, rather than being scattered across the forums.

It is based on Scratch's block engine though.

I specifically mentioned source code in my post… maybe read it again?

you can use this to make a game using the following code:

when green flag clicked
forever
if <<axis :: #4934eb> > [5]> then
change y by (5)
end
if <<axis :: #4934eb> < [-5]> then
change y by (-5)
end
if <<rotation :: #4934eb> > [5]> then
change x by (5)
end
if <<rotation :: #4934eb> < [-5]> then
change x by (-5)
end
end
