That’s nice and all, now correct me if I’m wrong- but here’s the thing… (I haven’t seen Onward, I rarely go to the theater)
Isn’t the character that stated she was a lesbian only on screen for a good few minutes? I wouldn’t say it’s bad, but if they were just there to state that they were gay, there would’ve been almost no point to say so at all?

Apparently it’s banned in several countries because of it. Now we know why disney didn’t do this sooner.

Yeah but it's really not Disney's first LGBTQ+ character, they had a background lesbian couple in Toy Story 4 and Finding Dory, and even one in a Star Wars movie. At least this character actually had a line

The character wasn't originally supposed to be gay, it was a last minute change requested by the voice actor. Pretty cool that they changed it for her imo.
