PVZ VS PVZ 2 (in my opinion)

What Plants VS Zombies 1 did better:

None of the plants were locked behind premium currency and/or micro-transagolor. Definitely, this is why no one likes 2nd game.
Multi-Platform release (I played the iOS version). Yes.
Better difficulty curve. YES!
You constantly unlocked more plants to play with. Yeah!
The Mini-Games. YES.

What the sequel did better:
The new art style and animations are gorgeous! No.
The writing is even better than the first game. It was pretty funny, yeah.
More plants to unlock and use (I'm not paying real money for the premium plants and gems, though) Nobody would ever want to pay money for plants in a game you already paid for that has plants.
Being able to level up your plants. Yeah, that was cool.
The Plant Food system. Yeah that was neato.
Pacing is much better with higher sun drops and the option to fast-forward the level. Yeah.
Upgrade plants from the first game are unlocked in the main game and are separate plants (No more grinding for coins and taking two slots for essentially one plant). It wastes less time, and video games are meant to pass time.
I put my opinions, and PvZ 1 is better.

I think so, too. Plants vs Zombies 2 had some really cool ideas, but the “free-to-play” model and gimmicky levels ruin the overall experience after the first two worlds (not counting the tutorial world).

I'm pretty sure Plants Vs. Zombies 3 is being made. I hope they don't just focus on that and also make some updates to older games like PvZ Heroes.

If what you are saying is true, all I have to say is: Please be good.

I could go on for what they could do to the game to push players towards using real-world money or how the flaws of Plants VS Zombies 2 could be made even worse, but maybe pigs will fly, heck will freeze over, and the moon turns blue and we'll get a game as well-designed and packed full of content as the original Plants VS Zombies.

They've kind of abandoned the original game, with the last update being over 7 months ago, and the one before over a year ago. I think they're putting everything into Plants vs. Zombies 2, with there still being updates multiple times a month. The second one has many, many more plants than the first game, so I don't know how the third game is going to turn out, i.e. which plants and zombies they're going to keep because there are so many now.

I'm going to go through each of the plants and say which I think should be kept

PvZ 1 plants:
Obviously you need to keep the day plants, but I'd honestly be OK with cutting Chomper because it's just really underpowered
Night plants: puff, sun and fume should be kept, grave buster if there are graves, hypno is a mainstay by now, but scaredy, ice and doom should be left out again (although if they return to mushrooms sleeping in daytime maybe scaredy could make a return)
Pool plants: lily pad obviously, squash is like the typical instant so it should be kept, maybe tangle kelp, torchwood, jalapeno, spikeweed, tall-nut. Cut threepeater since like who even uses it
Fog plants: most of these can be cut, but I'd keep blover, split if that sort of zombie shows up again, magnet and pumpkin. Sea-shroom deserves to be forgotten forever, cactus is either a counter to one zombie type or just laser bean, starfruit is a weird plant and plantern only functions if fog is in (which it shouldn't be)
Roof plants: keep the three pult bros, garlic, and marigold in zen, drop flower pot unless there's a related gimmick, umbrella leaf and coffee bean
Upgrades: keep gatling as a cameo in plant food, put cob cannon back in, maybe cattail if there's more than one water level, maybe spikerock, keep winter melon since we need a decent freeze plant, imitater. Gold magnet could show up in the zen garden? As much as I like twin sunflower I'm not sure I like how many plants are just “better version of x other plant”

PvZ 2 plants:
Egypt: keep bonk choy, iceberg lettuce and maybe bloomerang if you really want
Pirate: snapdragon fills a niche so keep it, but get rid of coconut cannon since it's just budget cob cannon
Western: keep lightning reed
Future: honestly I'm not a fan of any of these, laser bean is “i'm a better fume shroom”, infi-nut is kind of gimmicky and citron is just bad
Dark ages: I can't remember any new plants you get here, which probably means they shouldn't be in
Lost city: cut ‘em all
Beach: bowling bulbs should be an instant, probably cut the others
Ice age: unless you’re putting the ice gimmick back in (don't) cut them all
Modern: either you keep all of them or you keep none of them
Jurassic: cut them all because they have no place outside of a time travel setting
Premium plants: most of these aren't great, keep homing thistle if cattail isn't in, but I have very little experience with most of the others so I can't say: most of them just seem like “upgrade of x plant” though (wasabi whip -> bonk choy, fire peashooter -> peashooter which is redundant because repeater already exists, pea-nut -> peashooter & wall-nut etc.), so you can probably cut most of them

So:
Peashooter, Sunflower, Cherry Bomb, Wall-nut, Potato Mine, Snow Pea, Repeater, Puff-shroom, Sun-shroom, Fume-shroom, Hypno-shroom, Lily Pad, Squash, Torchwood, Jalapeno, Spikeweed, Tall-nut, Blover, Magnet, Pumpkin, Cabbage-pult, Kernel-pult, Garlic, Melon-pult, Cob Cannon, Winter Melon, Imitater, Bonk Choy, Iceberg Lettuce, Snapdragon, Lightning Reed, Bowling Bulbs (as an instant), Cattail or Homing Thistle.
Maybe Tangle Kelp, Scaredy-shroom, Split Pea, Flower Pot, Spikerock and the five shadows
That's 34 plants, maybe up to 44 (maybe more if there are any usable and original premiums I don't know about). If we say that there are 40 old plants, then if there are 10 new plants put in we get up to a nice even 50 plants in the game
(I might have forgotten some PvZ 2 plants but if I can't remember them then they're probably not interesting enough to be put in)

The most illegal thing about Plants Vs Zombies is the zombies are out at day and not on fire or turning into smoke and dropping tiny green balls.

All of my Ideas are for new plants and less of changing old ones. These are just my opinion and still a WIP so Obviously I have no idea how to balance it properly so I guess some Help and Ideas would be welcomed.

Phantomold

Sun Cost- 150

Recharge: Sluggish

Toughness: 500 Dps

Damage: 100 Dps

I liked PvZ 1 since I played it, its just that its very limited.
So I played PvZ 2, I got the problems about updates being as long as a windows 10 update.
Just for an extension really. I kinda liked both really.

But the Chinese version of PvZ 2 gets more interest in me.
Even if its Chinese…
It actually has more features.
They even has a bullet hecc mini game in it.
Odd.

I remember coming up with a bunch of ideas with one of my friends, it was a thing

Some that I remember:

Colonel Kernel: Basically a stronger kernel pult, 200 sun
Grape Shot (before it was in 2): Shoots grapes in 3 directions (forwards, up at a 30° angle and down at a 30° angle), 150 sun
Something related to lemon: Shoots weak lemon seeds, and also acts like a Garlic when eaten: 75 sun
Mangrowve: Grows protective shoots in front of it, they also refresh if not eaten for long enough: something like 200 sun

Also 1 is way better than 2 imo

There is already a grapeshot in pvz2, which explodes and scatters grapes everywhere

Discuss everything PvZ here! The regular games, Heroes, Garden Warfare, Chinese spinoffs, and everything else as long as it has to do with Plants vs. Zombies! You can also share your ideas for Plants and Zombies here, as well as make fake almanac entries for them! So, here's to a new topic!

I'm currently planning a Plants vs. Zombies 3 game. It's going to be around-the-world themed, and it'll return Day and Night, along with Underwater from PvZ:O. Right now, I've made one plant in paint.net: Art Shroom. Her almanac entry will be right below her.

Art Shroom
Sun Cost: 175
Recharge: Sluggish
Sleeps during the day

Art Shroom never knew what to do as a child. She tried many things, but she always lost interest. But then, she tried art, and she was never the same.

Draws weak copies of plants that aren't in PvZ 3 that disappear after 30 seconds
- Common: Guacodile
- Uncommon: Phat Beet
- Rare: Ice Shroom

Cool! So am I!
