When are children taught about days, months, weeks and years in America? I bet that it's earlier than at the age of 10.

If you check the statistics, there are about 4 million Scratchers under the age of 10.

However, my most major concern is how the Scratch Team could keep up with a bunch of Scratchers' time limits until the next time they can propose a project to be featured.
I'm 10. My sis is not on scratch often. shes almost 6.

I've seen a school teach it starting in 4th grade, which is 9-10 years old. 4 million Scratchers are under 10. AGAIN, THIS IS NOT MY MAIN CONCERN.

For the fifth time now:

Yes, I know. Many people learned about time very early. Some don't know how it worked. Again, my main concern is how you're supposed to keep track of it.

Za-Chary wrote:

I do think the “once a month” thing is a little troublesome… how are curators supposed to check whether someone has proposed their own project in the past month?

That's what I was saying. I did not only mean people who didn't know how to count wouldn't be able to keep track. I meant anyone in particular. Let's say you accidentally wait 30 days instead of 31 (because it's May 1st, I'll use the amount of days in May as an example). What would happen? Temporary ban?

But if NOTHING happened, then there would be no consequence, and people could just go proposing other projects to be featured.

Can you all please stop revolving around this? The OP even asked to do so.

What?!
Anyway, no support. The PPTBF studio would be flooded with proposals and it might crash the servers.

I am afraid you did not get me right. I said that the curators will have to load projects, which loads really fast. Not updating now, but I will include @Super_Scratch_Bros20's idea as an alternative of mine.
My idea was:
I will only support if it is automatic. Once you comment on the Propose Projects to Be Featured studio, there will be a 28-31 day wait, depending on the month of the year. Even if you don't propose your own/family member's project, you should still not be proposing too quickly.

Why?
Why would you want to propose your own projects?

Because, many people need support from other Scratchers to keep using Scratch (why?) I never understood that, but I do understand that not everyone is me. Everyone works differently.

This is actually one of the reasons why you're not allowed to propose your own projects - if the reason why you think that nobody would propose your project is that it is not worth being featured.
I said this earlier:
The rule also encourages looking for projects that others might enjoy, rather what only you enjoy[.]
So that if you look for projects that you really feel that they need to be featured, it's more likely that you genuinely enjoyed the project (as opposed to being proud of your own work just because it's yours, or simply trying to gain popularity with as little effort as possible).
Plus, if you created a project that you think isn't good, is there a reason why you think that others mind find it good?

But my assumption may be wrong, and you think that nobody'll propose your projects simply because people don't look at them.

Yes, that is what I think. According to ScratchStats…
I receive only 2 views on average per day.
I receive only 15 views on average per week.
I receive only 63 views on average per month.
In all my 66 shared projects I have got only 706 views.

Has the month thing been cleared up yet?

Or are you just ignoring that problem?

Why?!

First of all, it's impossible for all of the curators to keep checking literally everyday if someone has proposed a project, and if millions of Scratchers suggest to feature their project everyday then the PPTBF studio would be swarmed! How could you ignore this situation?

Please find a solution for this issue and then move on with more ideas.

Please read the above posts on why. I've snipped the part about the month thing so that we can move on to my main concern about how to keep track of when the cooldown is over.

EDIT: An evil kumquat ate part of my post. Hey, that's new! Kumquats that eat posts, not signatures!

Just kidding, I snipped it because I didn't like what I previously typed.

Partially. Also, to some Scratchers, popularity is everything to them. If it wasn't, @kaj wouldn't have become the boogeyman of Scratch. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have created The Underrated Studio. If it wasn't….well, you get the idea.

The Featured Projects aren't just gateways to popularity; they're supposed to showcase the site as a whole.
They'll be the the first projects most new viewers to the site will see.

Ah, I'll snip that. But still, to some Scratchers, popularity is everything to them. If it wasn't, @kaj wouldn't have become the boogeyman of Scratch. If it wasn't, I wouldn't have created The Underrated Studio. If it wasn't….well, you get the idea.

I still don't that even implementing this suggestion would make a difference; the Scratch Team would still have to pick quality projects to showcase.
It'd just be harder to sift through all of them for the ST, and because of the higher volume of suggestions, the odds are actually decreased.

This is why I suggested somewhere in this suggestion:

Have you seen all of the proposals? They're already dealing with the issue of many proposals.
