You already can, since Wikipedia and it's commons operate under CC0 already. In fact, you can use just about any image as long as credit is given, as Scratch is educational and is protected by Creative Commons already.

According to the Creative Commons license, you're free to reshare the data, you just have to let everybody know if changes were made and where you got it. I see no reason to change pure data.

When I am reading the Terms of Use (which can be found at the bottom of the page), I notice that Scratch is still using CC BY-SA 2.0, which means that:
It is illegal to use contents from Wikipedia and the Scratch Wiki on Scratch!
Because Wikipedia is using CC BY-SA 3.0 and the Scratch wiki is using the 4.0 version, which is incompatible with the 2.0 version.
To make using Wikipedia and Scratch Wiki contents legal, I suggest updating the license to CC BY-SA 4.0, because:
1. It does not obey the purpose of using CC BY-SA 2.0
2. It makes using Wikipedia and Scratch Wiki contents legal.
3. The 4.0 version is the newest version, which might contain less loopholes.
If you want to know why it is illegal, click here.
UPD 1: There was a survey here, but I deleted it.

Could you remove the survey part? It is a discussion forum not a survey form.

Is this a reference to:
Recently, I've been told that as long as the content is acceptable, you're allowed to post links outside of the Scratch website. I support changing that, as it causes constant breaking of the Terms of Use.
Scratch Wiki would be an example of a link with acceptable content. If not, the Scratch Team would be breaking their own rules to place a link to Scratch Wiki on the bottom of the page.

3.7 You agree not to post links to any content outside of the Scratch website, if to do so would violate any part of the Terms of Use.

Support.
I mean, there isn't much to say on this one, illegal is illegal and it needs to be fixed…
Until this gets changed, everyone please only link pages from the Scratch Wiki and Wikipedia - don't just take pieces of writing from there. We don't want the Scratch Team to get sued.
Unless the Scratch Team clears this up as incorrect information (which I am not sure about) or they change the existing license, everyone be cautious lol

Hello there!
I've noticed that this suggestion is in some way a duplicate of this suggestion posted a while back.
However, it is slightly different, though I think it would be best to keep all discussion in one place as their only difference is very tiny.
The decision is yours to make.
