Similar Projects (Multiple suggestions, click to see support ratios)
Usually, i get around 10-20 loves on my projects. I don't mind, but some people think that they're more “Important” than others and they deserve more views, causing arguments.yes, thats totally true. also, if you think you deserve more loves and favorites then everyone else, you probably don't deserve them.

This is growing like bamboo, maybe even faster…
…but 3 kilometres away…
…there grows another bamboo forest…
…and the DNA of the shoots is the same as of this bamboo forest.
In other words, this is a duplicate, and yet, no one noticed it until now.

This is growing like bamboo, maybe even faster…Very poetic - and a good catch!

However, I think we will leave this one open for a while as the link to it was being given out to a lot of people spamming the idea in comments. Give me a kick in a few weeks and I'll merge the two together

I think that on Scratch project pages, there should be a widget similar to the “Remixes” and “Studio” ones called “Similar Projects” (or whatever you want; I don't really care what it's called). It would have maybe 5 projects that have the same tags as the project you are viewing.
This would help a lot with people trying to “get their project out there.”
Where it would be implemented is the tricky part. These are what I came up with:
1: On the side with the “Studios” and “Remixes” widgets. Probably the last one.
2: Another box on the bar with the love/fave/studios/embed/report this that would say similar projects and open up a box with them (this way they wouldn't hog all the attention).
3: The “more projects by @UserWhoMadeTheProject” could be remade to include “more projects like this” and maybe even some more options.
So, any support?
Idea 1: 5 Supporters and 1 No Supporter (Most Popular)
Idea 2: 4 Supporters and 1 No Supporter
Idea 3: 3 Supporters and 2 No Supporters
Note, I'm only human potato and I might have miss counted.
I agree with number 1, but if you really want the similar projects thing to be noticed, why not make a online petition on like change.org or something?
It would be a better way to track your supporters, so after you got many signs on the petition, you could work out where the similar projects tab would go. Its just a suggestion tho.

I think if there are good unnoticed projects, it would probably get curated or featured one day. Hard work always pays off!totally, i mean, all the big names are never featured, so everyone will be noticed one day

I like the idea of having suggested projects. It would invite people to view projects by new and different people, connecting more people. I really think Scratch could benefit from this change.

Support! There are so many underrated scratchers everywhere! Many people make animations, and people who used the same song or characters could be in a similar project slot.

Unlike other similar platforms that maintain a sharing-and-view system, Scratch does not possess a recommendation system of any sort. On most social medias, any random post has the ability to “blow up,” whereas on Scratch, it is virtually impossible for this to happen.
Therefore, it is incredibly difficult for underrated users to gain recognition in the community. This project—https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/211685038/—goes more in depth into this topic.
I wanted to propose a new section on either the front page or the Explore page that would suggest Scratchers a selection of projects using a type of recommendation algorithm. The algorithm might consider recent views, loves, or favorites of a user and connect them to the tags or titles of other projects, ensuring that the users would see projects of interest on their front page. (I guess this is pretty similar to Option 3?)

I think that option 2 is a very good idea - I think all the remixes studios etc. should be in that format.

This could help unnoticed people to get their projects noticed. After all, if someone spent months on a project and doesn't get very many views, they may feel “lost in the crowd”. Although, I don't think the same projects should show on there all of the time. Maybe after a day or two, the projects displayed are replaced with different projects, to make even more projects get noticed. I think options 1 and 3 would be the best options, to keep it consistent with the style of the studio and remixes pages.
As for how the projects are displayed, I think it should focus more on the title, and less on the tags. Some users like to spam irrelevant tags in an attempt to get famous, and it wouldn't make sense to be on a tutorial project and then see a platformer in the “Similar Projects” section.
For those who think it will make people think Scratch is all about gaining tons of followers overnight, remember that featured and curated projects have the exact same function as this: to get underrated users more noticed.
