Just a note, they aren't deleted, they are going to be unshared so work isn't lost.

FNAF Fangames are Being Deleted?

FNaF was too scary for the Scratch website, as everything on Scratch has to be for all ages. So, the Scratch Team took action and unshared all FNaF projects that broke the Community Guidelines. FNaF is now getting the same treatment as EVERY OTHER GAME SERIES ON SCRATCH.

All FNaF games that are similar to the actual game are being unshared, due to the fact that the content breaks the community guidelines (blood, scary images). There are still some spin off games that are still allowed (weekend at Richards). Scratch is for all ages, and the games were giving scratch a bad name. Read the announcement: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/168506/.

Firstly, you don't have to capitalize each word. Secondly, awesome-llama's link will definitely help - most - not all - FNAF games have been removed because of their frightening nature and gore, meaning it's a bit scary to younger audiences.

But there aren't that many young kids on the site!
Even though you heavily doubt it - doesn't mean its impossible. All projects on the site must abide to the Community Guidelines, which makes sure that content is appropriate for all ages.

Why don't we have age moderation/restriction?
Age moderation and restriction would most likely shift the focus of Scratch, and disintegrate it's easy-to-use and all-age concept, and it is a suggestion declined by stickies.

But my project is perfectly appropriate!
If your project is indeed appropriate and friendly, then you have nothing to worry about.
If your project is inappropriate, then it is your fault and responsibility for failing to comply to the Community Guidelines and posting inappropriate content.

Good point. If a fnaf game is against the guidelines, it will be removed. If not, it will not be removed.

How was Austinato rude? Also, you should use [quote][/quote] tags to make clear what portions of your post are quotes.

OK, just to make my point about “It's now getting the same treatment as every other game series” clear, what I meant was…
Now, FNaF is one of the types of projects that will be banned if the project breaks the community guidelines. Before, it seemed that Scratch was not being fair about that point to FNaF simply because it was super popular, but eventually they realized that it was inappropriate and took action.

I wasn't rude at all in my post? I simply provided you a response from what I could gather, and add a FAQ to it.

Also, I'm not a member of the ST. On the forums, it would say “Scratch Team” rather than “Scratcher” or “New Scratcher” on the left.

That means that Scratch has to be appropriate for kids and teens. Think about it this way: if you had a party, and some the kids there were allergic to peanuts, would you serve PB&J sandwiches at the party? No, because some of the kids were allergic to peanuts. It's the same way with Scratch: it's made up of kids and teens, so Scratch can't have projects that are ok for teens to view but not kids.

Exactly, good metaphor, and the age moderation, is like knowing people who are allergic to peanuts are coming, and providing them a separate table, but depriving them of good food, basically excluding them.

Ok! First things first Five nights at Leo’s got removed! My answer is wrong to that because it has no mature content what’s so ever! I am actually against this surprisingly! And also why do ask for our age then either you want to steal our info and you are predators or you want to learn more about us. If you want to learn more about us just ask us in our project plz. But still why do you ask for our age then really?

ok this is a necropost, don't do that. (this thread was from 2017)
many people already know that fnaf projects have been marked as not for everyone, or have been taken down, because it isn't appropriate for kids.
if there's no jumpscares or significant scary themes, it's ok, otherwise your project is at risk.
just take caution if you are actually going to publish these projects, they're suitable for other sites like gamejolt.

Yep - this pretty much sums it up.

By the way, for those that have any questions about their projects being unshared, please bring it up directly with the Scratch Team by using the Contact Us form.
