Hi,

Today I was working on my project, and by mistake I deleted a very large block of code, and now that deletion has been saved, and I couldn't see how to un-delete it. Now I've continued working on it but realised it is going to take me ages to rebuild the code I deleted, because it took me quite a few weeks to write.

Does anybody know how I can go back to the project file as it was when I first opened it this morning? Then the deleted code would still be there and I can continue. Or how can I recover what I deleted?

Basically I just need to go back to an earlier version of my project, before I deleted the large block of code.

There isn't really any way to restore it.
You have hopefully learnt your lesson, though - make regular backups for things that are important.

Ctrl+Z should solve it.

Hi, thanks for your help. In terms of making regular backups, I presume that is saving a regular copy to my device - right? Sorry Ctrl+Z didn’t work because I deleted the code too long ago. I was hoping there was a way within Scratch to see previous versions? Anymore help appreciated, cowley07

You can just continuously press Ctrl+Z until you get to the code you deleted. I understand that may not work for you in your case.

No, once it has saved, there is no way to reset it, even with ctrl+Z. I recommend in the future, if you are doing something that may break the project, press file then save a copy.

I believe the undo history is only saved within the current session, so if OP wanted to recover code from days ago, Ctrl+Z is probably of no help.

It's not possible to reverse after a “Save now” has happened.

Today, I was making my scratch project then the code accidentally deleted some of the code then, i tried to fix that code many times then I started looking up stuff on how to get that code back. I heard smth abt revert Ctrl + Z and it doesn't work, at all

There's no way to recover it. You should have posted in a new topic anyway.
