I had always wanted to make a scrolling platformer, but I don't know how.

You might think I should use something like https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/597191, but I want to make my scrolling game efficient, and different.
I would like to use modern stuff like custom blocks, hitboxes, and variables to make my game good, but I don't really know how to make these types of games (like Scratchnapped by Griffpatch or Super Mario Bros. Version 10 by PaulKoning)

So, if you know how to do this, give me information and tell me how to do this task I am struggling on.

That's probably too wide a question for this forum especially if you want yours to be ‘different’! I'd start with learning how to create a platformer (@griffpatch_tutor's tutorial is a good place to start) and then make sure you understand how scrolling works. Combining the two isn't difficult once you understand how they work.
