is it okay?

so basically I made a remix of a person's game, but I downloaded the file after editing it and am planning to upload it as not a remix but I will give credit to that guy in game and on notes. Is that okay?
P.S. the guy's original work was a template.

Every project posted on scratch falls under the Creative Commons license.
Basically, you can take anybody's work, add your own details and improvements, and publish it as your own. The only rule is that you must give credit to the original creator.

The catch is though, that anybody else is allowed to take your work, add their own details and improvements, and publish it as their own. The only rule is that they must give credit to YOU.

So yes, go for it.

If it was a template, then they made it for you to use. On Scratch, you can use anyone's work as long as you make changes.

Yes, you can sell it. You still must give credit though, and make sure the original creator has not already put it up for marketing use.
I wouldn't recommend this though, it's best to just ask for permission.

Well, yes, as long as credit is given…

But, it would be extremely unfair to essentially say “I didn't make this, but I want your money. ”
