The Community Project, ShopBux - By everyone.
Yes. I thought that we could have adds designed by Scratchers.I like the idea of an upcoming projects showcase… we should do this!I think our first project should be an OS. We could have a “search engine” and we could create “websites” for users.Maybe to expand that into something slightly more original (no offense):
We could have a system for people to show off their upcoming projects and gain momentum before releasing the project. Having been part of the Scratch community for about a year, I know from experience how hard it is to gain social momentum in the beginning, no matter the quality of your projects.

Why do we need ads? The whole platform is about showing projects to the world.[snip]Adds for people's projects. In unobtrusive places, of course.

We should probably start some more in-depth planning. I think we shouldn't make it cloud-based, that would greatly limit the possibilities, as well as create moderation issues. That means that we'll have to accept applications from the comments or something.
Some things that will be on each project page:

[snip]Would keeping as much stuff as possible as backdrops prevent the editor from getting laggy? I have a weak computer, so I have had lag in the editor before.

LAUNCHPAD:
Tentative (Not Certain How This Will Work) White Paper
Launchpad is a program that helps content creators on Scratch gain momentum and attract attention to their projects and before their release.
Logos & Brand Identity

Project Pages
Project pages are where users put the information about their upcoming project. This would not be cloud based, and would have to be added manually. (We could use cloud, but only for stuff like creators updating their estimated release date.)
Users would need to show at least a semi-functioning concept of their project before approval.
Components of the project page:
- Title
- Image slideshow
- Expected Release date
- Short description
- Progress Notifications (ability to subscribe to notifications)
Accounts
There will be two types of accounts. Project accounts, and user accounts. (Will work on user pages soon.) Project accounts can only have one project.
User accounts get to subscribe to project accounts to receive notifications for progress on the project.

No. Hundreds of backdrops always lags a lot, and wouldn't work with some planned features anyways.[snip]Would keeping as much stuff as possible as backdrops prevent the editor from getting laggy? I have a weak computer, so I have had lag in the editor before.

SVG UPLOAD TEST:
Ok this is a very very very very very VERY large pain in the neck.
You have to get the data for the svg, find the file-path, create a Github Gist with that file data, use GitHack to turn it into an image, use TinyURL to turn GitHack's url smallish, and cheat with Wikimedia image hosting to get Scratch to let you upload it.
But…

Time to re-upload my tags. :p See yall in a few hours!
