In class today, we ended up with a couple of computers displaying



(Which happens if you accidentally select deny instead of allow on 1st use)

Managed to fix this (in Chrome browser) by opening another tab and entering chrome://settings/content/microphone and then clicking on the dustbin next to the blocked site



I believe the same issue with a camera can be fixed by going chrome://settings/content/camera

I have had the same problem with students using iPads. I suspect that they have Pop-Ups Blocked as there is no pop-up asking permission to access the microphone. That arrow is not clickable. I tried following the above advice but the menu is different on a mobile device. I can't view blocked pop-ups, and even after pop-ups are unblocked there is no pop-up asking for permission to access the microphone.

I am trying to use Scratch for a music composition project so it's imperative they can access microphones on their mobile devices. Any advice would be great.

NAB, Chrome denied access, Scratch isn't at fault.

Thanks Banana - any tips on how to manage? Going to Chrome Settings has been unsuccessful as there is no option to allow access to microphone there.

I get the same thing on my Mac. Did anyone manage to fix it?

I'm on mobile (iPad). When I reloaded the page it asked me again, so that might be a workaround.

There's an easy fix. There should be a lock symbol in the searchbar of a browser. Clicking this opens a quickmenu for settings, where things like camera/mic's can be allowed for that website.

Anyways, once you click that, there should be a section labled, site settings. Click that, and it'll open a larger menu in a new window, where the mic/camera can be enabled.

No that does not happen.

My students are using iPad airs I found mic works in scratch using Safari not in Chrome even when turned on in settings. Not sure why so I just had students switch to Safari.

It wont give me permission to use it HOW DO I HAVE PERMISSION

Click the arrow, and it will give ask you, give permission to use microphone. Click allow. This is not a bug nor is it a glitch you just need to allow scratch to use your browser's microphone.
