Logging in from and iOS device is impossible as the fields for the username and password do not appear. Tested with iPad , iOS 6.0.1, and the latest version of Safari for iOS.

Yeah, same for the Kindle Fire and Android devices.

But what is the reason?

I am also running iOS 6.0.1, and I've found that it just takes a lot of clicking to get the fields to appear.
