What Are Shops?

Have you ever wondered what's in the requests form? You click on it and you see a bunch of shops! Is that what you were expecting? Maybe or maybe not. A shop is a place where you can order anything from coding, art, banners, music, and more! Different shops offer different shops offer different things. It's all free here! In some shops, you don't have to pay but there is something called a fake currency for perks. We do not use it. We do everything for free! Make sure to give credit, the order isn't too difficult, and the deadline is long enough for us to give you perfect-as-pearls results. Finally, don't forget to read our front page! A note:

So this does seem pretty long. I've gotten multiple requests to shorten it. But I don't really want to. So, instead, I am writing this notice, which summarizes this a bit.
Section 0 is the basic rules for this shop.
Section 1 goes over how to order and the process of claiming. This is standard to all shops with the exception of 1.5 and 1.6.
Section 2 goes over the basic rules for workers: 2.1 is the requirements to join, 2.2 is the process of being accepted, 2.3 is our Trainee system, 2.4 is our strike system, 2.5 is our leave system, and 2.6 is our “Page XX” rules.
Section 3 goes over the systems of our “Respondings”, aka Activity Checks, Elections, and Votes.
Section 4 is our partnership system.
Section 5 is our BoD system.

To join, it is required to read this note, 1.5, 2.1, and 2.2.
It is highly recommended to read 2.3, 2.4, and 2.6.

To run in an election, it is required to (re-)read 1.2.1, 1.4.1, 2.1, 2.4, 3.3, 3.5, 5.1, and 5.2.

When someone becomes Assistant, they must (re-)read 5.2.5.
When someone becomes Officer, they must (re-)read 3.5, 4.2, 4.3, and 4.4.

0: About

0.1: By posting anything on any forum, project, studio, profile, or anything else owned by Perfect Pearls, on or off the Scratch website, you agree to follow these Terms.

0.2: Our name is “Perfect Pearls”. The abbreviation is “PP”. Note that no articles should be place before the name, e.g. “We are Perfect Pearls”, not “We are the Perfect Pearls”.

0.3: While these Terms outline the rules for this shop, they also describe, in detail, how Perfect Pearls should be run.

0.4: Strictly no spam or advertising or you will be reported. Off-topic posts must be kept at the studio The Perfect Pearls Workers Only Studio. If you and a worker and your spamming, advertising, or posting off-topic posts becomes an issue, you may be fired by the Founder or President.

0.5: All Postees must have fun!

1: Ordering

1.1: If the Postee wants to get some media from us, they fill in the order forum. ///// 1.1.1: If they say “ASAP” under “Deadline”, it will never be overdue. ///// 1.1.2: If they mention a specific worker who is in the shop who they would like to finish their order for them, that worker must claim (see 1.3) it first.

1.2: If the form is correct and everything is filled out correctly, it is added to the Orders Center (“OrCe”) by the President with a status of “Qualified”. Otherwise, it is “Unqualified”, and the Assistant notifies the customer that it is. ///// 1.2.1: If the assistant does not notify the customer that it is unqualified within 36 hours, any worker on the BoD does ASAP, unless the customer has already found out and fixed it.

1.3: If a worker thinks they can and wants to complete it, they soon reply “Claimed”, “Dibs”, “Taken” or something of the sort, meaning that they will try to get it done and the status of the order is then updated to “Claimed” with a link to the claimed post. ///// 1.3.1: Once an order is claimed, no one else can take it.

1.4: Once the order is finished, the worker who finished it posts the result on the thread and notifies the customer. The order is removed from the OrCe and added to the Completed Orders list by the President. ///// 1.4.1: If the worker does not notify the customer that it is finished within 12 hours, the assistant does. If it has been 36 or more hours since the finishing and the customer is still not notified, any worker on the BoD does ASAP.

1.5: If the order is overdue, any worker can work on it, even if it is claimed, and 1.3.* does not apply.

1.6: Whenever someone orders or claims an order, they receive a letter or number, generated, with varying probabilities, here (“Char”). ///// 1.6.1: Once a single person gets enough Chars to spell the “Mystery Word”, of which people only know the length, the Founder starts telling a story, with the Mystery Word and some others. Only a few Story Words are announced between Mystery Words. ///// 1.6.2: If someone does not want a Char, they can trade it out with someone if both people want to. ///// 1.6.3: After a successful trade, if it is not on the forum, one of the traders should notify the founder.

2: Workers

2.1: If the Postee wants to be a worker, they must fill out the Application (“App.”). ///// 2.1.1: THE CODE WORD IS “LET ME”. INCLUDE THAT IN YOUR APPLICATION OR ELSE. ///// 2.1.2: 2.1.1 is VOID. Ignore it. That is not the code word. If “Let Me” is in your App., it will not be accepted. ///// 2.1.3: At the “Activity Rate” section, the Postee must TRUTHFULLY estimate how active they are on a scale of 1-10. In order for the App. to be accepted, the Postee must have a Rate of 5 or higher. ///// 2.1.4: They must read through 1.5, 2.1, and 2.2. ///// 2.1.5: They must also follow this forum thread. ///// 2.1.6: Finally, they must include the capital code letters “R”, “G”, and “W” in the “Why should we accept you” section of their form.

2.2: If they don't do the above, any member can deny their forum. If they do, however, any BoD member can accept them. ///// 2.2.1: If they are accepted, a manager of the studios should invite them to the studios The Perfect Pearls Workers Only Studio, where they should be a curator, and Perfect Pearls Advertisement Studio, where they should be a manager. They should invite all their followers, as curators, to the latter.

2.3 If the Worker is a New Scratcher and/or has at less than 20 posts, they are a trainee. Trainees cannot vote in some votes (3.2) or elections (3.3), based on the host's choice, until they fulfil the requirements and are promoted.

2.4: Workers receive strikes for missing Activity Checks, Votes, or Elections or breaking these Terms. ///// 2.4.1: Customers may not receive strikes, but may be reported and/or added to the ban list by the Founder, President, or Officer. ///// 2.4.2: After a worker reaches a certain amount of strikes, they are fired. Trainees are fired after 2 strikes, BoD is fired after 5, and regular workers have 3. ///// 2.4.3: The Founder and President can fire, strike, and/or demote workers for any reason they say.

2.5: Workers can go “on leave” for any period from 2 (min) to 30 (max) days, by filling out the Leave Forum. They do not have to do anything during that time. ///// 2.5.1: See 5.2 for more information about BoD and Leaves.

2.6: At PP, racing to get new pages is allowed, but only with the following restrictions: ///// 2.6.1: No posting “Ninja”, “Oof”, “Noo”, or anything of the sort. ///// 2.6.2: Strictly no posting “Post 50 no edit” or “Page 20.5 no edit”, or anything of the sort. ///// 2.6.3: All “page xx”s must be posted in the same post as something else that needs to be posted. I.e, “I’ll claim this order. By the way, page 22 no edit!”. If you can, compress your posts into as few as possible. If that means you have to leave a page hanging, then so be it. ///// 2.6.4: Pages get points. More information, including the current standings, are located here.

3: Respondings

3.1: Activity Checks (“A.C.s”) are typically held once a month. ///// 3.1.1: The Founder, President, or Officer can call one by posting, “Activity Check” with the due date and a list of workers who have not yet responded. ///// 3.1.2: A.C.s may not be held less than 30 days since the last responding. ///// 3.1.3: The due date must be exactly 7 days in advance, however it MAY end early if everyone has responded. ///// 3.1.4: One responds by posting anything on the thread. This is NEVER an excuse to spam. If there is nothing that they need to post, posting “Active”, “Alive”, “Hi”, or anything of the sort is acceptable. ///// 3.1.5: Responses should always be on the thread, never anywhere else, such as a studio. ///// 3.1.6: Somebody is “excused” and does not need to respond if they have previously filled out a “Leave Form” and the date lasts for the entire A.C. If they are not on leave for the entire A.C., then they must respond. ///// 3.1.7: When in doubt, you DO need to respond.

3.2: Votes are held whenever an act is being passed. ///// 3.2.1: They work similarly to A.C.s. The following are the differences: ///// 3.2.2: The founder is the only one who can host votes. ///// 3.2.3: The host tracks what people have voted off of the forum. ///// 3.2.4: The host must vote first. ///// 3.2.5: They always end 12 hours after the last person votes (to give that person time to change their vote if they want) or 7 days after the start, whichever comes first. ///// 3.2.6: Someone responds by posting whether they want the act to pass or not. ///// 3.2.7: One can change their vote if they want to, but they must do so before the vote ends. ///// 3.2.8: If there is a tie, the Assistant has a second vote to break it. If the Assistant has not voted at all for any reason, the host is the tiebreaker.

3.3: Elections are the same as votes, but with the following differences: ///// 3.3.1: Elections are how BoD is decided whenever a spot is vacant. ///// 3.3.2: To be in the election, one who must already be a worker, fills out the BoD form. ///// 3.3.3: If they have at least 7/10 activity and 50 posts, the Founder, President, or Officer can accept it, taking into account what they say about their past bans and ect. ///// 3.3.4: People respond to these by saying who they want to be the replacement.

3.4: See 4.4 for Partner Activity Checks (“P.A.C.s”)

3.5: The following applies to A.C.s, Votes, Elections, and P.A.C.s (omitting P.A.C.s, “Respondings”): ///// 3.5.1: If someone responds after the due date, but before the host posts the results, it still would not count. ///// 3.5.2: The Responding or P.A.C. host should create a countdown on timeanddate.com. ///// 3.5.3: Only one Responding can be happening at a time. ///// 5.2.4: All Respondings and P.A.C.s must have a due date of exactly 7 days after the start.

4: Partnerships

4.1: There are 5 types of partnerships: ///// 4.1.1: Shop partnerships are two shops who help each other finish orders. ////// 4.1.2: Associations or Federations (“Groups”) are collections of shops. Some groups are only shop collections, while some help support the shop in various ways. ///// 4.1.3: Currencies are something where shops can “sell” perks to customers such as a guaranteed faster order. However, each shop must have at least one free service. ///// 4.1.4: Global Orders Centers are groups of shops who all help each other with orders. It is a cross between Federations and Shop Partnerships. @congyingzhou, the owner of the largest one of these, The Shop Web, stated at the end of the latter's first post “Kind of like a massive partnership system.” PP includes these in “Groups”. ///// 4.1.5: Competitions are groups of shops that compete to finish orders. Due to the rareness of these, the details can vary greatly. ///// 4.1.6: Most of the above are located in the “Requests” section of the discussion forums, but can be located anywhere on Scratch. ///// 4.1.7: PP allows partnerships with all of the above.

4.2: The Officer should own a “Partnership List” on the main thread. This post moves when the Officer changes. ///// 4.2.1: The post should have all of the banners of our partners, in alphabetical order, with each banner linking to their respectful threads. If a partner has no banner, then the name of the partner, linked, is listed instead.

4.3: The Officer makes most decisions about partnerships. The only other person who can is the Founder. ///// 4.3.1: The Founder makes partnership-related decisions very rarely.

4.4: Once every 50 (min) to 60 (recommended max) days, the Officer should hold a P.A.C. to eliminate dead partners. ///// 4.4.1: It is the same as A.C.s, but with the following differences: ///// 4.4.2: The Officer lets all of PP's partners that have had less than 20 posts in the last 30 days know that we are having a P.A.C., with a list of who needs to respond at each particular shop. ///// 4.4.3: In a typical case, two BoD members must respond, in the way of responding to an A.C., by the due date. ///// 4.4.4: If two BoD members are not available (i.e., the shop does not have a BoD, the shops' BoD is empty, the employee(s) is/are on leave, ect.), then the founder and any other single worker. ///// 4.4.5: If the founder is not available, then any 3 members must reply. ///// 4.4.6: If the shop only has less than 3 workers, then all of the workers must reply. ///// 4.4.7: If the partner is no longer available, then the Officer contacts the partner's founder to ask whether they have moved and if they would like to remove the partnership. In the meantime, the partnership should be removed from the list. ///// 4.4.8: When in doubt, ask the PP's Founder. ///// 4.4.9: If it has been more than 60 days since the last P.A.C., then any BoD member should host one ASAP, and the Officer is striked.

5: BoD

5.1: There are 6 BoD Places. ///// 5.1.1: The Founder can do anything. He owns the main thread and all of the front posts (except the partnership post) and is the only person who can close down the shop. ///// 5.1.2: The President is the Founder's assistant. He has the same abilities and responsibilities as the Founder, but cannot create official announcements without permission from the Founder, own the thread, or close down the shop. He also posts a “Bumping Stuff” (format) on every page. ///// 5.1.3: The Officer manages partnerships and has the ability to accept BoD applications and hire. ///// 5.1.4: The Adviser searches for suggestions from the public and reports them to the president or the founder, advises the President and Founder and hires. ///// 5.1.5: The Manager manages advertising, is the Adviser's assistant, and can hire. ///// 5.1.6: The Assistant bumps the thread, helps newcomers, has the casting vote in case of a Vote or Election tie, notifies customers (see 1), and can hire.

5.2: Each person on the BoD fills in for the person above them when the person is on leave. When they are filling in, the take over all of the responsibilities of the person they are filling in for. ///// 5.2.1: If the Manager is on leave, the Assistant fills in for them, taking over their responsibilities. ///// 5.2.2: If the Adviser is also on leave, the Assistant takes over the Adviser’s responsibilities as well, since that is usually one of the Manager’s responsibilities. ///// 5.2.3: The Founder fills in for nobody. ///// 5.2.4: The President still cannot close down the shop while filling in for the founder. ///// 5.2.5: When the Assistant goes on leave, they can specify someone to fill in for them. If they don't, the worker who is not on BoD, not on leave, and has been a worker for the longest time fills in.

5.3: When a BoD member leaves the shop for any reason, all BoD members below them are promoted one spot. ///// 5.3.1: Then, an Election (see 3.3) for Assistant take place. ///// 5.3.2: If there are multiple vacancies, then they highest spot is Elected first.
