The first thing you guys need to know is that in order for me to create a sword on my sprite, I made a costume with the sword in the sprites hand. This creates a problem because when I code the sprite to attack, the sword isn't detected as a separate sprite, therefore it doesn't attack. I was wondering if you can make a sprite follow another sprite and also how to make the game detect damage and deaths.
