An explanation of the "New Scratcher" status
When you are a New Scratch, you can't use cloud variables and connection on some online games won't work.Great guide for new Scratchers!(YourTitleHere)
Once you are a Scratcher you can use cloud variables and connection on some online games and use cloud variables.
(☁ YourTitleHere)
Steps:
1. Have a verified email address.
2. Have a few shared projects.
3. Have been on Scratch for a certain amount of time (at least 2 weeks, but usually 1 month).
4. Be active on the website. This is a big part of becoming a Scratcher. ...
5. Have comments and forum posts.
Everything on google.
When you enable cloud data when you try to make a block, "For this sprite only" will disable, which means you can't use anything else except numbers.

An explanation of the "New Scratcher" status
When you joined the website, you may have noticed that your user profile says “New Scratcher”. If you haven't, it looks like this:Isn't 30 seconds for a Scratcher, too?
Anyway, you may find this annoying, because it has a few restrictions. Before making a topic asking how to get rid of it, please read this brief post about it.
Why it's here
The short answer is to prevent spam.
The longer answer is that this arose out of an actual situation that occurred. A while ago, a bunch of trolls created disposable accounts that posted inappropriate images all over the Scratch forums. In order to prevent that from happening again, the Scratch Team decided to create the “New Scratcher” status, so that in order to have the privileges that could lend themselves to trolling or spamming, users would actually have to show that they use the site for real and wait around a little bit. Unless a troll were extremely dedicated (which is exceedingly rare), he or she would get bored and move on before being able to cause any significant damage.
Restrictions
- Can't use cloud data
- Have to wait longer between posts
- Can't edit posts after leaving the page
- Can't post links to any non-Scratch site on the forums
- Have to wait 30 seconds between comments
- Can't post images
How to get rid of it
I knew the criteria on the old website, and it involved the amount of time you were registered, the number of projects you had, the number of comments you had, and the last time you visited the forums. In order to prevent this information from being abused, I am not going to list the exact numbers for each. On this website, I think the criteria are very similar, but may have a few changes.
Just be active, post constructive comments on peoples' projects, make projects, and generally be helpful around the site, and you will eventually find a link on your profile that says “Become a Scratcher”. Click it, and you will be promoted.
Any questions? Just reply to this thread!

An explanation of the "New Scratcher" status
Hey I am a New Scratcher,
Now I have been joined 6 months, I haven't been active until recently. I know that the only project I have shared if “Wrath of Ashardalon” but I am working on a project called Staff of Shards.
I am planning on using cloud variables and I need to be a Scratcher, also I would like to post videos that I am making with my camera. So I can post them and people can watch them. I cannot get a you tube account, plus I like Scratch better anyway, you tube is inappropriate.
But I can't upload files of videos, does this require you to be a Scratcher???
THANKS!

Kinda sucks, because I had to make a new account from my old one, @Springbonnie35, and i had to wait a while again, and i really like posting and doing stuff, but now i had to wait. It makes sense though, and it's the right thing to do. OwO

You can't upload videos, it takes it as a gif, and says it is too long, i think

I wished there were no followers and following because then other people with no followers is going to get saltyFollowers are just a quick way to keep access to the people you want to view the projects of. Many people, however, will follow anyone for any reason. They will follow their friends even if they don't care about their projects, or they will do follow-for-follows so none of it is legitimate anyways.
In the real cases, I think people need to take a deep breath and work on their own projects' content and quality in terms of their own personal standard (with some feedback if they desire - but they need to agree that the feedback is beneficial to the purpose of their projects) instead of worrying about who is following them. The projects get the followers, the followers don't make the projects. The person who has 10 followers may make content that touches the hearts of those 10 followers in ways that the person with 100,000 followers never does. Why should those 10 followers lose what they love because it is not popular? (: Focus on the content rather than the following and the follow feature should be a-okay. All creators no matter the following should keep their other non-Scratch interests alive and growing and the failure in one aspect (such as follower count) will not impact them enough to be salty. If they are, then it won't be salty enough to ruin their life because they have other foundations to build on. (: (If someone does express saltiness, feel free to remind them about all the other things and interests they enjoy and can do. (>)

But what about F4F? Where people follow just so that other people can follow you, nor for the good work or anything?I wished there were no followers and following because then other people with no followers is going to get saltyFollowers are just a quick way to keep access to the people you want to view the projects of. Nah, it's great. Following allows you to keep track of people and what they are doing, so you can always catch the latest of them.
