Paper Mario is a game that crashes a lot because of random things.
List of things that can crash paper mario:
1. Invisible penguins
2. Attempting to beat Paper Mario
3. Standing still
4. Hitting a block for 416 years
5. Having a friendly conversation
6. Touching a flower
7. Falling in love
8. Hitting a switch 121 times
9. Hitting the same block billions of times
10. Watching a cutscene
11. Opening a treasure chest
12. Gently smacking Huff N. Puff
13. Opening Paper Mario
14. Having a duplighost turn into Goompa
15. Using Sushie's tidal wave
16. Trying to load Paper Mario on an NES
17. Crashing Paper Mario
18. Being Peach and getting hurt by literally anything

I think I might have seen a few videos explaining those. One video that I can remember from that channel is the one explaining how Happy Lucky Lottery is rigged. Also, I'm pretty sure all of those ways are only for one specific Paper Mario game.

Paper Mario for the N64 is an excellent game in my opinion, but it's not exactly the most well built or stable game, or maybe we've just come to accept that there's basically a Youtube channel with it's sole purpose being how many different ways you could crash Paper Mario N64 or do something else weird with it.

I'm sure with some effort the game could crash if I did some random button combination with my feet but only when the N64 expansion pack is in the system

I do the exact opposite where I spell out “n-e-s” but say “snes” as a word
