More text to speech options

Why can't we have a lot more voices? It can be useful for animating videos with many different characters! Also the voices actually sound weird, and the “kitten” voice is kind of useless since it just says “meow”

Here is what the blocks should look like:

speak "()" at speed of () :: #0fbd8c // The higher the speed is, the faster the character can talk, but it can't go higher than 75

set voice to [Male child v] :: #0fbd8c // More voice options

set pitch to () :: #0fbd8c // The higher the number is, the more high-pitched the characters will sound, but it can't go higher than 75

set mood to [nervous v] :: #0fbd8c // The character talks in a different way, based on the mood

I hope these get implimented it's what i always wanted

I see a lot of people saying i should say this to amazon, but that doesn't stop scratch team from asking amazon

Ask Amazon, not Scratch. The voices are from Amazon Polly.

The Text To Speech extension is powered by Amazon, so ask Amazon, not Scratch, but these are brilliant ideas! Support.

Instead of:

Speak ''()'' at speed of ()

There could be these blocks instead:

Set speed to ()

Change speed by ()

And there could also be:

Change pitch by ()

I would really like these blocks because I was having trouble creating a project with certain emotions on my other account a couple of days ago. But unfortunately, the ST can't do anything about this since Amazon is the company controlling the Text to Speech extension.

I did find an Amazon forum on the internet though - I don't know if you are allowed to make suggestions there but I'm not giving the link because I'm afraid that it will lead to inappropriate content.

Very true. You should only post links to parts of the Scratch website.

That's incorrect - the ST still allows links to places that are safe for children (for example, the ones in this list). They are also trying to prevent websites like Discord or Reddit using filtering systems, so Scratch is safe. You are only allowed to link certain websites, you'll probably get reported if you don't.

I agree that changing voices would be fun and cool because it would be boring if we didn't.

To get more You need to change the language

If you want more voices, you just have to turn to the sound tab then to external software, existing voice clips, or your microphone. We don't need more text-to-speech voices when the sound tab can be used for just that: Voices.
