I asked my friend whats it called and he replied “idk”
I dont know what this idk means im not very good at english
I think it's an insult/mean thing but i dont know

I think it'd be rude not to reply to you. Imagine you asked me a question and I just didn't respond at all. Wouldn't that make you a little upset? So, your friend doesn't know the answer to your question, but still responded to you saying that he/she doesn't know either. “idk” is just an abbreviated way to say that.
