Support. I think it should be called “General” instead.

The TBG Forums are the Text-Based Game forums, for roleplaying and other stuff created by the ST (read this article for more info).

Is this what you guys wanted or did you mean something else?

No, the ST doesn't allow meme threads since they cause a lot of spam.

No, it has to be about Scratch.

I like the concept, but I don't get what exactly would go there. Can you give an example of a post that would fit there and nowhere else?

How about “Other Things on Scratch”?

Support though.
I do see there being the potential that people would misuse it, but I have many times wanted to create a topic on something that quite unfortunately doesn't fit the forums… I know I could easily create a studio instead, but the forums have such nice features, like quoting and pictures, that make it far better. I know plenty of people would use this, and would probably benefit a lot of people. For example, the Chair of Republic Discussion was so epic, but in the end, it didn't fit on the forums… I think people could use it for making discussions on trends, or other “groups” like “Scratch-Made Memes”.

I'd say that it fit the Show and Tell forum just fine- it's just that it got a TON of spam. It being closed didn't have to do with where it was placed.

I've already answered this:

Here:
  • Contest entries (especially in writing, for example in Scratch Writing Camp)
  • Bug trackers
  • Voting (like for who should be leader in a contest)
  • “About Me” or “What I'm Working On” extensions
  • Save code topics (for people who don't like their comments to be cluttered with save codes)
  • Tutorials for how to code something (unlike in Help with Scripts, nobody would have to ask)
I'm sure people will find other stuff, this is all what I found when searching through Show and Tell for things that don't fit Show and Tell.

Just because that's not the reason they gave for closing it doesn't mean that it fit Show and Tell. Show and Tell is where all of these things go that don't fit. Show and Tell is for advertising projects and studios, not discussions about a studio.

Get what I'm saying? Most of the stuff that people pile in Show and Tell is not show-and-tell.

Anything that has to do with sharing a project, profile, idea, studio, etc fits in the Show and Tell Forum. People are meant to respond to these topics (like discussing a studio, or sharing save codes), so saying that it's not about discussing studios is incorrect. Show and Tell forums includes everything on the list other than “Bug Trackers” (it may include it, I just don't know what that is).

No, it's not. Show and Tell is for advertising projects, that's the forum description. Just because other things are allowed doesn't mean they belong there. These things can go here, just as long as there's no other specific forum for them. Advertising is not the same as discussing. A save code topic does not belong in Show and Tell because you aren't advertising your project, you're just collecting save codes. It is not really a good place for discussing studios, are you advertising your studio by discussing it with someone? Is having a manager chat advertising? What about critiquing someone's art? Is that advertising also?

Bug trackers are where you let people post bugs they find in your project so you can fix them (also not Show and Tell, it's not advertising, it's just a collection. You're not saying “Hey check out my project, then find bugs!”, it's saying "if you used this project and noticed a bug, follow a link in the project description then post it there so I can find it.“ Not so other people can find it.)

Show and Tell is for advertisements. Just because something is allowed doesn't mean it's meant to be there.

Edit: Also, how on earth do about me/wiwo extensions fit in Show and Tell? You're not ”Tell[ing] everyone about your projects and studios."

Not at all…?

This is basically a misceallaneous (excuse my spelling) forum about things on Scratch that don't relate to the other forums, e.g. a place to paste save codes, about me/what I'm working on extensions, etc.

With that description, I'd say Bug Trackers fit in Show and Tell as well (under the project's topic). It's not advertising, but it's still discussing the item being advertised. Forums are supposed to encourage discussion, not the opposite.

For the reason that I don't believe there is a purpose for this forum, as nothing doesn't fit in the ones currently in use, I'm going to say No Support.

Nope. Paddle2See didn't. “see the purpose”, and didn't think it fit. I agree.

Okay.

Imo, that's just not true. Just because you are discussing a project, does that mean that it fits in any forum, even though it doesn't really fit the topic? Why can't I post a bug tracker in the Project Ideas forum? You're still discussing a project. Also, you posted an oxymoron - you can't discuss something being advertised if the item is not advertised.

How is this discouraging discussion? By making a place for more posts? I'd say restricting the things you can discuss and confusing people who don't know that literally anything is allowed in Show and Tell is the thing discouraging discussion.

If Chair of Republic didn't fit the forums, that makes it only more impressive that you managed to get over 2300 posts on that topic and lasted over 6 months.
