Replace the Robot feature with the Echo feature

I very much appreciate the cleaned-up sound editor and its wide variety of new features, but I noticed that the Echo feature is missing.

A Scratch Team stated that they removed this feature because they didn't want to “overwhelm New Scratchers” with options.
Therefore, I suggest to replace the Robot feature with the Echo feature. I haven't seen one project that uses the Robot feature. The sounds it creates are ugly and don't even resemble robot noises. Conversely, the Echo feature was used in more (although admittedly few) projects and has many practical applications, such as something wobbling back and forth or a cave noise.

If you have an affinity for the Robot feature but would also like the Echo feature back, consider discussing it on this topic.

A Scratch Team member said that they didn't want to overwhelm New Scratchers with lots of options. They decided that the Echo effect would be eliminated.

I still have the Echo effect on my outdated download of Scratch Desktop.

I personally think they should add the Echo back, “overwhelming new Scratcher” with the echo feature is never going to happen, everyone knows what a echo means, and considering how complicated Vector mode is, they could possible be overwhelming new Scratchers from the beginning!
I think they should remove the Robot effect, I don't see much projects using this tool.

True. If they really didn't want to overwhelm New Scratchers, they would introduce the coding aspect step-by-step instead of all at once.

Yes. The echo feature has been removed. Although it would not ‘overwhelm the New Scratcher’, I didn't find the echo feature useful and I find it a bit random. If you would like it back, you can suggest it in the Suggestions forum and the Scratch Team might bring it back.

That's because that particular copy of Scratch 3 doesn't have the current sound editor - not sure why the main Scratch repo was never updated to have the improved sound editor, but it's.

http://llk.github.io/scratch-gui/master/ is the old one and does not get updated (i know that). http://llk.github.io/scratch-gui/develop/ will get updated.

I don't agree. Cloud variables are only for Scratchers for security reasons, not because they are complicated. But they could remove the robot effect - I really don't know what it could be useful for.

To everyone who replied to this post thus far, thanks for your input! I considered a lot of this discussion when writing up a new description for this topic, now renamed “Bring back the Echo feature” and reported to be moved to the Suggestions forum.

I think that's still pretty much the same idea - it's perhaps a refinement or compromise at best. If you want to propose that, I think it'd be best to do so on the linked thread.
