Sometimes, when I went to some my projects last night, I noticed I found the “?” block bug. Someone fix this!

Are you using Microsoft Edge? If you are, there is a bug where some of the vector images you made in Edge turns into an square with a question mark.

This bug is reproducible by 1.Open (or create) a project in Microsoft Edge. 2. Click on “Surprise” in the “Choose a Sprite” tab. 3. You see a square with a square with a question mark with some probability. (If you can't reproduce the bug, click “Surprise” over and over!)

Yes, I am using Microsoft Edge.

My browser / operating system: Windows NT 10.0, Chrome 64.0.3282.140, No Flash version detected (due to Flash ending in 2020)

We haven't figured out how to restore the lost images back yet, and we need to wait for the ST to fix this. For now, we can use other browsers such as Chrome or Firefox. (btw Scratch runs better in Chrome(or Firefox) than Edge.)

This happened in one of my projects. The costume was a stop sign. All I needed to do was re-add the costume to fix it.

Oooh, you can even recover the Helvetica font using this bug.

This is simple, all you have to do is replicate the sprite if it's a question mark block, then you are ready to go!

Can you update Microsoft Edge and Windows for me? Edge's engine now runs Chromium 70 which may resolve problems.

Maybe you used a funny font and your device didn't recognize it?

Arial, not Helvetica, silly.

Wow, this is very interesting, actually. The question mark font changes to Arial once opened in the costume editor, which can then be edited.
Even though the font name appears glitched in the font selection tab, nothing actually happens when you edit the text. Neato!

Still doesn't work with the maintenance work finished…

I've checked their GitHub repository and I'm glad that they've noticed the bug, though. As a user of Microsoft Edge and not being able to install other browsers (don't ask-I have reasons for this), this renders Scratch unusable for almost half the time that I'm making projects.

Hopefully it is prioritized and is an easy fix so I and many other Scratchers can start using the editor normally again.
