Stuck on a world in Super Mario Bros.

I'm stuck on world 8-2 (on the original Super Mario Bros on the 3DS Virtual Console).
I can't jump to the other side of the hole. I was end up one block away from it.

Any help?

You could try looking up online walkthroughs. They might be helpful.
