Did this thread go to the second page? Because it was not 24 hours since the last post.

If it’s on the second page you can bump also?

Hey

You can bump the thread if it reaches the second page of the forum.

It's weird that you have been on the forums longer than me and don't know basic details

OK:

(1) computer OS settings for high contrast are not necessarily obeyed by any browser, which will usually take the colours prescribed by the web site's cascading style sheets.

(2) setting monitor contrast will of course help, but is a nuisance if it has to be set/reset all the time, and it does not solve the problem of some artistic designer ramming their bleak choices down my eyes.

(3) I hold a private pilot licence, and just passed this year's medical. My eyesight is very good. Yet I disagree with the current trend adopted by web designers that everything should be very low contrast. Not everyone likes to read text in light gray on somewhat lighter gray.

(4) there are people with varying degrees of colourblindness, and they should be able to choose a colour palette that suits them.

(5) despite my good eyesight I find the low-contrast Scratch interface, especially the coding blocks, irritating: it looks like there is some fog in front.

The best solution is to let people choose the colours for the interface. There are not that many: nine for the coding blocks plus a gray for text. And it is not that difficult to implement!

I support this would make scratch more accessible. However the contrasting colours must be togglable.

Being added, this will take effect on June 29th.

I think it'd be easier as I don't think all computers have that high contrast option

Although this one is older, I still believe it would be considered a duplicate. Maybe they could be merged.

This is also in scratch labs, meaning it will probably be added.

The other one got closed as implemented, so I think that this one should, too.
