high-contrast mode

In Japan, it has been discussed that some children can not distinguish blocks because their color contrast is low. With Windows and other operating systems, even web pages like scratch can not be represented with high contrast. So we propose to implement a display mode with high contrast in scratch.
We believe that the high contrast mode makes it an easy-to-use interface not only for children with color weakness, but also for elderly users.

That's a good idea for users that need to use high contrast, but you can go into your computer's settings and enable high contrast. If you have a Windows 10 computer, you can go to Settings, then search “high contrast” and turn it on. So not only the Scratch website will be high contrast, everything will be high contrast. But if you don't want your entire computer to be like that, I will support this suggestion.

From what I can gather, they're suggesting a color-blind mode, and in that case, this thread is a duplicate.

Not colorblind mode.

The following are the opinions submitted to the Japanese forum.
- Since the characters in the block are white, the contrast is low and literacy is not possible.
- Reading the script is painful because the block border contrast is low
It is not intended to be a complete high contrast display for colorblinding, but only a design change that gives a high contrast ratio outline.

I support this as a toggalable option.

This could really help those who need it.

I think this function should be toggle-able to keep regular look and feel.

I think that it will be much easier to see if you put a shadow on the text besides high contrast mode.
For example, just adding an attribute such as “text-shadow: 1px 1px 0 # 000;” to CSS will make it appear like Scratch 2.0, so I think that visibility will improve.

“high contrast” mode doesn't influence on each application's appearance at least on Windows 10.

No support. You can adjust your monitor's contrast and color settings if needed.

Those settings would also affect what appears on the stage and paint editor

Color of block(yellow, orange, blue, and so on) and font(white) is so close, so contrast setting cannot be solved this issue.

In Japan, 5 percent of men and 0.2 percent of women have color blindness. I think that the design of the site should not be a barrier for people to learn programming.
Please consider.

If other kids need this, then it is probably necessary. The ST really needs to improvise on the whole matter about eyesight . One of the only things I am truly disappointed with on Scratch is that. For one, they do not even have a dark mode and for two, they do not have support for colorblind people + kids that find the low contrast difficult to process.
