-snip-yeah I guess this could help a lot, but I still would like it to be optional, the only issue I had with this really was the fact it wasn't optional

That may make the coding for adding this suggestion in more complicated, meaning that this suggestion would be less likely to be implemented as more time would be required to work on something that may not be considered something urgent.-snip-yeah I guess this could help a lot, but I still would like it to be optional, the only issue I had with this really was the fact it wasn't optional

Though optional way is ideal, I don't regard this as a optional way.
As considerable number of users say here, this brings a lot of merits to the localized topics.
Besides, I think there is less demerits even for the standard forums.

I'm deleting my “Support” because this is a duplicate.

As CatsUnited says below, coding difficuty is serious for this suggestion.
I asked Paddle2See about this, in fact he gives a negative opinion.
my suggestion is easy to implement and (I think) has less demerits.
Although the purpose is the same, the solution is different.
Nevertheless, is this duplicate?

They are at MIT. They prolly could find a bored sophmore web designer to do this.

Anyways i dont think ST is lacking scripters so this is rediclous. The point of this forum is to facilitate dicussion. You probably best send them an email directly. That's your misunderstanding.
Actually, we are discussing not technical matter but what a better solution is.
As stated as “Powered by DjangoBB” at the bottom of the page,
the managent system of the Discussion Forums' source codes are diffrent from other Scratch's one.
Also, as “Discuss” button has disappeared from the Navigation Bar,
“Discussion” is a secondary function on Scratch.
Besides, ST have many higher priority tasks.
So, I think ST would probably not want to put much effort on this matter.
Of course, though ST can do it by themselves, technical informations can help them.
So, to show how easy to implement this suggestion is important.
Like i said i think youre better off using contact. I doubt your suggestion would get through using ‘suggestion’ forum.

axisjack,
Excuse me, I can't understand what you mean.
This is unmistakably a suggestion suitable for this topic.

People are saying that making it optional would be better, so…I've noticed this link — but decided to leave OP's topic up since their suggestion doesn't make this optional, yet this linked topic does.
Duplicate!
That is, OP's suggestion is to bring down all closed topics, yet the linked topic here is to only bring down topics at a Scratch Team member's discretion.
By the way, OP, your suggestion certainly fits in the “Suggestions” forum. I don't think you'll get much help by using “Contact Us”.

Yes, my suggestion minimizes the amount of the coding.
The linked topic's one needs to add an attribute to each topic.
It makes it both complicated to implement and risky to migrate.
Since my suggestion is so simple,
once it is done, it doesn't bother the Scratch Team.
So, I would like to promote this plan strongly.

axisjack,
Excuse me, I can't understand what you mean.

I firgot that you could leave a comment on a STP profile (which you already made as i can see). What i meant by my previous comment was finding a way to get your urgent (as you claim) problem looked into

Support only if optional. Sometimes, I just wonder why or how closed topics even closed in the first place, and maybe they still have important information in them.

However,
some options are considered the same as mine, if it is simple enough.
What options are you considering?
