What is Tensai Bakabon?
Tensai Bakabon is a manga series by Fujio Akatsuka whose original run was from April 9, 1967 to December 5, 1976. It had a whopping amount of FOUR different anime adaptations, the most recent one having its original run from October 19, 1999 to March 21, 2000. It is Fujio Akatsuka's most popular work in Japan; his most famous work internationally, Osomatsu-kun, falls second.
What is it about?
Tensai Bakabon is a gag series that follows the adventures of the titular Bakabon, a boy who falls just under average intelligence as his name implies (Baka means stupid). However, he is nowhere near as dimwitted as his beloved Papa, who is the favorite character of Fujio Akatsuka himself across all of his work. Papa's catchphrase is “Kore de ii noda!” which means, “It'll be alright!” which he often says regarding his stupid ideas and schemes. Bakabon also lives with his mama and his genius baby brother Hajime. Other characters include their gullible sweeping neighbor Rerere, the lovable Eeldog, and the hard boiled trigger happy policeman Omawari-san.
Where can I watch/read Tensai Bakabon?
Sadly, as of now, most of the Bakabon media is raw, but there is an active user on YouTube who has been subtitling Tensai Bakabon episodes. There is also a bilingual edition of Tensai Bakabon manga that is in Japanese and English, but you will need a physical copy because it has yet to be scanned online.

All of the Scratch forum rules apply. Keep discussions polite and Bakabon related. Talking about other Akatsuka work or other things is permitted so long as Bakabon ties into it somehow (etc. about how the 1988 Osomatsu-kun anime has Omawari-san and Rerere in it.)
