I think of it as,
Pico: Male
Tera: Female
Nano: Male
Giga: Female.

The Scratch Team hasn't given them an official gender, so they can be whatever you want them to be. I guess they would technically be “it” but you can decide when creating/viewing a project.

I think they are nonbinary like Scratch Cat.

It seems like this topic is getting close to a joke topic.
To answer your question, you decide for yourself what genders the characters are; it isn't 100% obvious, so you can choose for yourself.

They're non-binary, but here's personally what I think.

Gobo: Male
Scratch Cat: Male
Giga: Female
Pico: Male
Terra: Female
Nano: Male

I'm not sure if they really even have genders. My personal thought is that they are all nonbinary. They are basically just drawings, but we can call them what we want. Our human perspectives all seem to say this:

Scratch cat is male, gobo is male, pico is male, tera is female, giga is female, and nano is male.
