Do you think it was a good idea for MOTHER not to even vaguely mention the existence of Giegue—the game’s main villain—until the game is already almost over?
I thought about this for a while. At first I thought it was bad writing. But then I realized, would powerful alien invaders of Earth stop to introduce themselves to you before they invade Earth? No—they would work quietly from the shadows until their mission is complete. If they interact with you at all, it’s because you’re powerful enough to pose a threat to their plans. This is what makes the last few scenes so powerful in MOTHER in my opinion—this all powerful guy finally makes his presence known and descends from space to destroy you, and then you defeat him with a song his mom used to sing him.

I haven't played Earthbound because of its T-rating, but I really want to try it out someday.

I feel like Earthbound is more E10+, it's only rated T (I think) because the themes of the game get darker near the end/at the end. I haven't played Earthbound because of its T-rating, but I really want to try it out someday.

That's dumb. It should be rated E10+. It really shouldn't be T.The re-release on the Wii U and 3DS eShops, yes. It's rated T? I haven't played Earthbound because of its T-rating, but I really want to try it out someday.
