.sb2 to .sb files.
People want .sb files so that they can use the converters to .exe and .app Blob may I ask why we should want to convert our .sb2 files into .sb files? If we can use the .sb2 source code which I have, can't we just open the .sb2 files using that?

http://kurt.herokuapp.comUse
It doesn't convert blocks that don't exist in 1.4, but it's useful if you upload a 1.4 project that you then want to download and be able to edit offline again.
I tried it with the project
Backspace, Enter, Tab and Escape Key Detector
by griffpatch
(http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/19199766/)
Now i can use F1 F2 F3 F4 F5 etc. in 1.4
Thank you for posting that link,

The Scratch 2 offline editor! What program do I need to open a .sb2 file?

But….
I am not a adminstrator of my laptop….
Can you give me a portable version?

You could try opening the project in scratch 2 and then opening 1.4 and copying all of the scripts and sprites from s2.0 to s1.4. works for me. Not technically the same file, but it's close enough.

There is a way to compile the .sb2 files to make them a .exe, but that is not exactly easy, you need to use the scratch 2.0 source code in a Java SDK and somehow use the bones and bridges from the code there to make some sort of compiler, that way it can read 2.0 files. Or you can simply open your .sb2 file as a .rar / .zip and put the main code in the Java SDK and build it from there from scratch. This is all I got so I hope it helps you all!

In short, though theoretically possible using blob8108's Kurt and some hacking, it's not very practical. There are many new features in Scratch 2.0 that are just not supported by Scratch 1.4: how would you convert those? Custom blocks, video blocks, cloud data variables, vector costumes, the list is endless.
most of those are actually hidden features in 1.4

I transefered a 1.4 project on my new computer with 2.0. It can't save because it keeps trying to save it as an .SB. So I used the converter and it saved

I could try, but I don't know if the Scratch Team would want redistribution of their software through a portable zip…The Scratch 2 offline editor! What program do I need to open a .sb2 file?

Vector costumes: Hmm. If you could go from 2.0 to 1.4, a lot of things would be changed or removed. So, if you had a vector Scratch Cat and put that on 1.4, it may be removed or it's the cat, only in bitmap if you were lucky.
Cloud Data, Video Blocks and Custom Blocks would go
or disappear
undefined? Wouldn't they go
I didn't check the Scratch Wiki for that until now.

Will it ever be possible to convert the sb2 to sb files that uses new blocks but they are turned into the sb format (2.0 blocks are turned into what would be used in 1.4)

Well some blocks simply aren't possible in 1.4 so I'd say no, I'm afraid not. Will it ever be possible to convert the sb2 to sb files that uses new blocks but they are turned into the sb format (2.0 blocks are turned into what would be used in 1.4)

Kurt tools don't solve my problem. Lossy compression of images maked some transparent pixels imperfect and they become black. Also, all sprites in which their position is defined on start (not by blocks) are moved to center.

Finaly The Pi is a problem!I don't know! People seem to use it, though. It's useful if you upload a project to Scratch and accidentally edit it, but you still want to be able to download the 1.4 version. Or if you want to run projects on the Raspberry Pi, which doesn't support Scratch 2.0. Blob may I ask why we should want to convert our .sb2 files into .sb files?
PS: Converter Shows Blank Page

If it's so simple tell me how! Well why can't people just develop their projects in scratch 1.4? It makes a whole load of sense. If they wish to use them on the raspberry pi they can simply remove the SD card, plug it into the computer and load the files onto the SD card, that's how I do it with my raspberry pi! Also I have been doing some research on my pi and it turns out that if you upgrade the SD card on the pi to a larger storage (say 8GB), you can load adobe flash player onto the SD card and from there get Scratch 2.0 OE. Simple!
Also I would like to ask if you know how to use the source code of Scratch 2.0 to edit your projects in .sb2. I think I may have an idea, but it will take some heavy thought…
