What is the Unity Game Developers On Scratch Studio?
The Unity Game Developers On Scratch Studio is where Unity game developers can hang out, talk, and show off the games they've made (as long as it's appropriate for younger ones)! It is also where new game developers can ask questions about the Unity interface, or C#.

What is Unity?
Unity is a cross-platform game engine developed by Unity Technologies, so basically, Unity is software that allows you to make games, sorta like Scratch, but a lot more complicated.

What projects will I see in that studio?
Currently, the studio is empty and doesn't have any projects, but, I am making some tutorials for beginners on how to use Unity. But if you have a project that is about Unity, please go to the studio and ask for it to be added.

How can I become a curator?
If you have made game(s) with Unity:
Please show us (as long as it is appropriate for younger ones like I said before) your best game!
I would love to check out your game. After that, we will add you.

If you have not made any games with Unity yet:
That's ok if you are currently making your first game, I will still add you as a curator. Me and the other curators (if there are any by the time you join) will do the best that we can to help you make your first game. Feel free to ask any questions.

If you don't use Unity at all:
Sorry, but I will only accept curators who have at least a little bit of experience with Unity.

How can I become a manager?
1. Be active within the studio.
2. Have a decent enough knowledge with Unity and C# (know your way around the Unity interface and at least know how to make a simple scrolling platformer).
3. Answer Scratchers questions about Unity or C#.
4. Be nice and constructive.
5. Follow the Scratch Guidelines.

Is there anything else I should know about?
Yes. If you have any ideas on how to make this studio better, please comment on my profile and tell me what the studio can improve on and I will consider the idea. Also, the studio thumbnail is not something I am completely loving. If you have any talent in any graphic designing, please comment on my profile if you want to work on a new thumbnail for the studio! I will give you credit in this forum and in the actual studio.

Sorry, I have one last question, what if I am curious about Unity but don't know where to start?
Come to my studio! The curators and I will do our best to get you started on Unity from installation to publishing your game!

Thanks for reading this advertisement and I hope to see you at the studio!

Unity Game Developers On Scratch - Studio

ANNOUCEMENT:

The Unity Game Developers On Scratch Studio Now Has Ranks!

What is a Rank?
A rank shows how experienced you are in Unity game development, it can also tell how active you are within the studio.

What are they for?
They are just for fun and showing off how amazing you are at game development.

Seems great! But what if I am not a curator and I don't want to be one since I am already a curator for so many other studios, can I still participate in getting ranks?
Of course!

What are all the current* ranks and how do you earn them?

  • Master Game Developer - Have to have at least 5 games published.
  • Average Game Developer - Have to have at least 1 games published.
  • Starting Game Developer - Doesn't have to have a game published, but at least knows how to make a scrolling platformer with enemies.
  • Absolute Beginner Game Developer - Doesn't have a game published, and does not know how to make a scrolling platformer.
  • Active Developer - Is constantly active and commenting (as long as it's not spam or advertising projects) in the studio.
Where can you see who has which ranks?
You can see who has which ranks in the description in the studio and at the bottom of this forum.

I used Unity, once upon a time.

But I quit. For even the most basic of features (like a dark theme), you had to pay. Also, if you don't have a commercial license Unity will hijack your game with an annoying Powered by Unity splash screen.

I would love to join, though. I still have a little knowledge of Unity 2018. Of course, there's no way I'm becoming a curator but it'd be great to mentor people moving out of Scratch!
