Tutorial Forum
I noticed that a lot of people tend to post random tutorials on the forum, especially script help, show and tell, and new Scratchers. Every time, they get shot down because random tutorials are quite discouraged.
So I'm suggesting that a new forum be created, called “Tutorials”, where people can both create and learn from user made tutorials. I think this would help the site greatly, since now we won't have any off topic tutorials in random forums.
Let me know what you think!

The HwS forum is kind of a teaching forum but more spisific than general. I would say scratch wiki has good tutorials that people can use.
Besides tutorials are something you read and follow. The forums are for discussion.

But we've got to find some way to curb the massive amounts of random tutorials popping up around here, right?

Script help, mostly. I've seen a few on New Scratchers, too. Apparently a lot of users just want to help out people who seem new to Scratch.

If this were made, people would probably ask questions about how to do things, which would basically turn it into the Help With Scripts forum. If you want to make a tutorial, do so in the form of a project.

Then what about all the random tutorials popping up in help with scripts? I think if we created a forum just for that we wouldn't have so many off topic posts anymore.

I'm not familiar with the Help with Scripts forum, and so far I've only noticed one “tutorial topic” on the first page.No support

Either direct them to the scratch wiki or maybe make a sticky topic that include a link to the scratch wiki. But i dont think a forum will solve this

I noticed that not many people read the wiki… And others yet don't read the pins…
Plus, I think this would really help. People could help each other outside of direct script help questions, and it would solve the problem of random tutorials all over the place.

You needs stats to backup your claims. And if it was the case then it would be a matter of giving the wiki more exposure not the otherway around. Maybe create a forum with a single topic that links to the scratch wiki. I dont know. By now a ST member should weighin

Yeah. I've seen quite a few tutorial posts but they usually got closed or deleted quite quickly after people shot them down.

Thanks for the link (although I could do without the dramatic picture)! It does look like this is a duplicate topic so I'll close it to keep the conversation all in one place.
please continue the conversation in the topic linked in the picture above.
