I'm making a font called “Panda Friend” with a font editor called Birdfont!

Nifty! I reimplemented an old font recently using FontLab and Glyphs. I probably should have given BirdFont a go.

I've not used either of those.
By the way, I tried one called FontForge, but the GUI is ugly and it crashes all the time.

That's actually really nice! I look forward to downloading it.
Perhaps you could make it a mix of caps and lowercase so that you get a “messy” style? Although then you could only really use it for titles, and it looks like it could be good for body as well… I don't know. You choice.

I used to do typography, I'm not very active anymore though. I had a quickly scribbled down idea for a font but that never really went anywhere:



I never really finished any fonts. Nowadays I just use Google Web Fonts.

It's quite easy to get something a little more, well, real.

1.) Your 4's are backwards.
2.) If you can find some way to make it monospace, that would be pretty cool.

Also, the 4's are backwards on purpose because it looked weird the right way around.

Also, the 4's are backwards on purpose because it looked weird the right way around.

It looks like the arrow on some Return/Enter keys.

yeah the 4 just looks bad the wrong way round, the rest looks decent.
