Christianity isn't “you either believe it or don't”, it's more of a spectrum, ranging from not believing in it at to believing that everything in the Bible is true. Where do you fall on the spectrum?Believing only parts of the Bible does not work. Either you believe the whole thing, or you don't. I guess you could try and piece apart the Bible and only believe the non-supernatural stuff.

Adding onto this, the Bible states many times in different ways that if you are not for God, you are against God. That extinguishes any idea that you can be in the middle.Christianity isn't “you either believe it or don't”, it's more of a spectrum, ranging from not believing in it at to believing that everything in the Bible is true. It's cool to know that the Scratch Team lets Scratchers talk about the Bible, it makes me happy.

the book of revelations was pretty metal and rad. definitely a big creative influence on me.
despite being agnostic i've always enjoyed the old testament. i have a strong disagreement with it on my moral grounds but as a collection of harsh, cruel and miserable stories it's pretty great. got the same appeal of the twilight zone. not a fan when people use it to tell me i shouldn't exist!
i think most of the new testament is pretty good! i like the parts about rich people being bad the most.
one day i'll write an adaptation of my favorite bible stories with my own flourishes (read: very gay and goofy). some christians will not like it, but the ones who will are gonna get my cool seal of approval.

feel like it should be okay to be for God in general without believing that all of the stuff he does in the old testament was good and justified, y'know?Adding onto this, the Bible states many times in different ways that if you are not for God, you are against God. John 3:16:
For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not die but have eternal life.
If you believe in Jesus, and that he is the Son Of God, your Lord, and Savior, the Bible says you will have eternal life.

It is mentioned that the sin of sodom is homosexual actionswhy? because I corrected somebody?I see a flame war on the horizon*homosexualityhi is gay anything allowedChristians have debates about this, but the bible mentions several times that homisexuality is breaking god's law.
Not exactly. It must be taken into account that at the time and place the Bible was written, gay relationships as we know didn't exist. The verses that mention it are referring to things that are still crimes to this day** (I can't elaborate this on Scratch, and you're probably too young anyway), not loving and healthy relationships between partners who see each other as equal (as I've said before, it wasn't a thing).
Also don't misunderstand me, lgbtq+ people have always existed, but marrying for love is a rather recent development
**: they can be committed by people of any sexuality/gender btw
I hope this makes sense, I'm really bad at explaining things lol![]()
keeping this topic peaceful is in my best interests too

Guys, can we just discuss the Bible as a book, not the law of everything?
My favorite Bible quote of all time: “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.” - Revelation 22:13

Anyone else find the Q source hypothesis quite fascinating?I normally agree with the idea the other writers based theirs on Mark.

I believe that what God did in the Old Testament was justified, but harsh. He was much more merciful in the New Testament onwards.feel like it should be okay to be for God in general without believing that all of the stuff he does in the old testament was good and justified, y'know? What do you believe that God did wrong?
