You probably already know what I think of this port from the Super Mario Maker 2 topic, so I'll say it again.
So while the downgrades from SMW are excusable since this is on a less powerful console, when compared to SMB1 and SMB3, it seems noticeably lacking in that direction as well. Which is weird, considering that SMW is bigger than SMB1 and SMB3.
The design is pretty off. The levels don't really have anything that pops out, it just seems kind of flat and weirdly colored. The gravity is also pretty inconsistent, sometimes going too fast, and killing enemies doesn't really flow as well in compared to the SNES version.
Also the levels that you can play are oddly limited. There are 3 Yoshi's Houses, no secret exits, no Star World or Special World, and a lot of the normal levels are missing as well. Heck, Vanilla Dome actually only has one Vanilla Dome level and the rest are recycled from other worlds.
Key features are missing too. Examples are (like I said before) secret exits, bonus areas, water, switch palaces, and even the functionality of Yoshi Coins. These missing features pretty much narrow the game down a lot.
On the bright side, it is pretty good that they were able to port so much from SMW on another console from scratch. They even managed to get Yoshi in the port, which Nintendo themselves weren't able to do.
It's good from a ground up perspective, but very boring from a port perspective.

I played the game on an online emulator. It wasn't that bad, but the spin jump didn't work.
I can see that, since Super Mario World on the NES was made by one guy, Hummer Cheng.

It wasn't made by just one guy. It was made by a homebrew team called Hummer Team. Hummer Cheng was the composer and lead programmer.I played the game on an online emulator. It wasn't that bad, but the spin jump didn't work.![]()

Spin jump is A+Up on this port. Also, you were probably playing the more common prototype, instead of the actual final version of the port.
