THE MegaMan/RockMan Thread!
Yeah, pretty similar. So basically Sonic Generations but fleshed out
In story at least. The gameplay is another deal.
I'm just thinking it'd be a cool concept, especially since I've already been planning on featuring Classic Mega Man (and several other characters) as playable.
The side-plot of the Classic characters would be that Wily has obtained and harness the power of the Zesehs Cube, a powerful tool with the ability to break time and space. With this he warped into another world (or place in time) with the intent of taking it over– but not without Mega Man and co. following along. Roll and Dr. Light end up at the Flutter, Wily is somewhere on the loose, and Mega Man conveniently warps to right where the other Blue Bomber is about to have some trouble. With that, the game has begun, and getting the original story's shenanigans out of the way, there will be still more involving Doctor Wily.
(Also Zesehs is Shesez spelled backwards… He's a YouTuber who breaks boundaries and sometimes time itself in video games… He also said something I pretty strongly disagree with starting around 14:45 of this, so sometimes I jokingly make plotlines about him being a character in the Classic universe, warping through time and space in an attempt to destroy all other versions of Mega Man.
“Consolidate” – PERFORM A NON-CLASSIC GENOCIDE
okay that got dark I think)

RetroMan is supposed to have a CRT screen in the place of his head…
That's about it right now.
There is also a Master I made up as a joke, (Sing Us a Song oh) PianoMan, but neither of these have any related sketches yet.

Hey, this thread is looking lonely, so here's something.
Today I played Wind Man's stage in MM6. And I had a good time. Sure, looking at it with a more critical eye, maybe I can notice a few design issues, but you know what, I HAD FUN. And that's not something I say a ton when talking about my experience with Classic Mega Man.
Of course, MM6 was approaching the time of X. And boy, I had a lot of fun with X. Should probably revisit the series some time and play more than the first game.

Okay, so ignoring the games design, my biggest gripe with the Classic games is that people seem to think they're the only good Mega Man games, and that Capcom should just forget everything else and focus on Classic.
You know what I say to those people?
Legends was the only series with decent cutscenes, and therefore, for the sake of the player's ears, Legends should be the only Mega Man.
X should be the only Mega Man, because the levels were actually enjoyable to play.
Battle Network should be the only Mega Man, because it knew how to give players tons of content.
Each of these games did something right, and arguably better than the Classics. Which means the Classics actually deserve the least attention.
Regardless though, I think what we need is a game that takes the best of each, rather than being based on a single series and pretending the other games don't exist.

Well Classics are the only games with a coherent and complete story, and simpletons (like me, but not exactly, i like a bit of mystery too) kind of prefer that. What REALLY ticks me off is that they act like 7 and 8 (the only games besides 11 that are not 8-bit) doesn't exist, and, they went so far to “remake” 7 and 8 to be like 1-6 9-10. Now, i do mostly follow the classic series, but the other ones do look interesting, but it just really annoys me how people ignore the 16/32 bit games. The idea of “de-making” (that's actually what it's called) 7 and 8 is something I'm not particularly against, but you know what, honestly anything that isn't his old ugly mug from the NES is kinda refreshing. What REALLY ticks me off is that they act like 7 and 8 (the only games besides 11 that are not 8-bit) doesn't exist, and, they went so far to “remake” 7 and 8 to be like 1-6 9-10. Like, I know, it was an amazing technical achievement at that time, but if you actually look at it, it looks a little terrifying.

So a lot of Capcom games are going on sale on Steam…
MMLC2 is going 50% off, while MMLC1 is going 60% off.
Because Capcom knows.

Well, I haven't posted in this thread for a wile and I just wanted to share this because I forgot to share it on the thread earlier when I first got and completed the game. Since I never played a mega man game before, when I got Mega Man 11 I set it to newcomer difficulty and beat it while it put forth a challenge that made the game rewarding to conquer. I then decided to take it up a notch and create a new save file on casual mode.
I rage quitted about 30 minutes later because not only was I dying on Block Man's stage because of the conveyor belt, it was somehow taking what seemed forever for me to get enough bolts to get any upgrades. I even tried some of the other stages in hopes of getting more bolts. I then remembered how many times I fell down pits and hit spikes in newcomer mode and was saved by infinite pit and spike saves, which then brought the realization that I'll have to buy a ton of those.
So I came to this conclusion: Modern games and platformers have made me soft and I am therefore not cut out for classic and retro games like Mega Man.
This is further backed up by the other facts that when I got my hands on retro games like The Legend of Zelda, Kid Icarus, and Kirby's Adventure in Dreamland, by playing the “Retro Adapter” (as I call it) on the Nintendo switch. Even when I played the versions that skipped you to the final boss, I still couldn't beat them.
Seriously, video games now days have given most people my age an easy time completing them, so that now we can't complete the flagship games that were created during the dawn of the videogame era. It's like modern day humanity trying to survive in the wild without any technology or modern inventions to guide them, they'd die within the first 24 hours.
So, long story short, if you've managed to beat these classic and retro games, I salute and applaud to you.

If you want a retro-styled difficulty, but not plain unfair, then try Super Mario Bros. 3. It gives a NES challenge, but not enough to where it's unfair.

How i toughened myself up to play Mega Man games, was to first save state LIBERALLY, and then follow that up with save stating after every stage, until, eventually beating 1 on a reload-free run.
