I would love to see Onion Skin in Scratch. It would make animations easier and smoother. For those of you who don't know, Onion Skin is where you can see a translucent version of the costume you last selected. It'd be nice to be able to not blindly have to draw another costume hoping the part I'm redrawing doesn't look too choppy when in motion.

Good idea! Support! Of course, an on/off button would be good.

create clone of {myself}

when I start as a clone
set {ghost} effect to (50)
go to front
wait (0.1) secs
delete this clone

Is the way I can think of to build your own. The clone is already on the costume you want.

Oh, wait, this script is for slow-mo scenes in animations. What you're suggesting is a ghosted layer IN THE PAINT EDITOR, like light tabling(Anybody have a DSi or 3DS? The Flipbook app has this). My mistake.

So yes, support.

I hate when in my animation the person get's taller, then shorter, then taller…. then his arm is shorter…

I WANT THIS. I want this so badly you cannot comprehend the true form of how much I want this.

If we don't get this, I'll have to stick with my overly complicated animation style: Turn my character's outlines grey and remove its fill color, draw the new costume over it, then remove all the grey.

Also, I would appreciate having it in both editors because I still use bitmap. It's a lot easier to color my characters in.

Support although I think it should be an option not 100% of the time because if it was 100% of the time it could get in the way so I support as long as there is an button for it.

Support for both the Onion Skin functionality as well as a toggle option/button for said functionality.

Oh I definitely support. For the on/off button, too- without one that wouldn't be good XD I've thought we should have this for a long time. I've never tried much more than the simplest of animations, but I'm very comfortable with Scratch and if it had onion skins, I'd be more inclined to try it. An alternative (this might be better) would be layers with opacity that you could change. This way it would help for both art and animations.
