The “Things I'm Reading and Playing” forum is one of the 30+ forums in Scratch, and is used to talk about things outside Scratch. Topics about books, video games, music or TV shows fit this forum purpose.

What do I use the “Things I'm Reading and Playing” forum for?

This forum is used for talking about things outside Scratch that inspire people. Examples include video games, books and movies (especially popular franchises.)
There is a large community in this forum, so there are LOTS of topics about LOTS of things. If you see a topic about something you like in this forum, or something that sounds interesting to you, go join it and talk to other people about its topic!

Things that are mildly related to Scratch (such as Snap!) could be posted in the "Advanced Topics" forum, depending on what it is about.

If you can't find a topic for something you like, make a new topic.

What CAN you post in the “Things I'm Reading and Playing” forum?

There are interesting topics can/should be in the “Things I'm Reading and Playing” forum, including, but not limited to,

Appropriate, creative video games (the most common)
1.1. Topics discussing/comparing/rating two or more video games are allowed, as long as they aren't broad.
Appropriate, inspiring books
Some appropriate movies
Clean music that inspires Scratchers
A few popular, appropriate TV shows
Discussing theories/ideas/lore about the above (sometimes)

If the topic you were planning to create doesn't fit one of these options, maybe it's not suitable for this forum. See Unsuitable Topics
