I'm making an rpg similar to the legend of zelda (1986) and I don't know how to make a sword script.

Assuming we know nothing about that game what do you want the script to do?

I mean from what you've told us I can't tell much but I'd be happy to help …
Could you tell us what functions you want the sword to perform, how many costumes / what animations you want the sword to undertake, how the damage for the sword will be calculated, etc?

I can't help you unless you share the project and post the link here, but I can supply ideas…


If you mean a slashing animation with costumes, I can't help you, but…

You can smoothly make it turn and turn back to make it slash.
You can make the sword go the Link's position offsetted by whatever amount.
You can make enemies touching the sword take damage.

Sorry guys I posted this late last night and my mind was everywhere Its an overhead rpg and Im talking about the direction the sword hits here is a reference.
