If not supported already, support. I make an OS and this would be useful.

The ability to hide the mouse cursor/pointer when hovering over the stage screen
But when you move your cursor off the stage you will get your cursor again.When you're watching youtube, and you go into fullscreen the mouse disappears. This isn't much different.The computer mouse cursor/pointer is always showing, obviously. And what if I wanted to hide it while it's hovering over the stage screen just in case I don't want to interact with it. This suggestion seems useless but it can actually be kind of useful… For example, in a 3d first person shooter (and yes there are shooters in Scratch) you shouldn't be able to see the mouse cursor, because the gun is basically the cursor.
If something like the Scratch blocks (as shown below) can be implemented then that will be great.show mouse cursor :: control
hide mouse cursor :: control
This can also allow the possibility of custom styled mouse cursors in Scratch which will be really useful. (See one of my comments below showing the specific code to do that). There can even be a specific keyboard function that will show and/or hide the mouse cursor when being used in Scratch for people that want full control.
So yah, that's my suggestion.
No support here, sorry. I don't want people playing with my mouse.
Well, there is a bit of a difference. I guess I'll say support if there aren't blocks, but instead, a checkbox “Hide mouse while over the project”.
What I don't want to happen is this:
Project: Hideshowhideshowhideshowhideshow haha I found a way to break your mouse!
Cookie Clicker Project: If x position > -130 and x position < -140 and y position < -160, hide mouse. Lol I tricked you into clicking love it!
Project targeted at new scratchers: Muahaha I stole your mouse. Click love it to get it back. Use of unstoppable project trick would make this bad.

The ability to hide the mouse cursor/pointer when hovering over the stage screen
If you are trying to get the “Hide Cursor” thing to work, it still might be possible. However, the code to do it may be very long and very hard to do. No one advanced on Scratch has been able to figure out how. Hopefully, they will add this feature in Scratch 3.0the hide curser block has already been done in a few mods so its not like its impossible.

SupportHey there! Next time you write ‘support’, can you motivate the answer? The ST considers requests by looking at its pro or cons, not at how many people want it. Thanks.

I always thought about the block being a sensing block like this;
turn mouse pointer [on v]::sensingI support though.

To be honest that would probably better.

Neutral support - I get how this could be useful, like for example if you're in a game but that contains cutscenes where it's better if the mouse pointer was hidden (only when hovering above the stage, of course…), but it could sometimes get a bit confusing to know where your mouse pointer is if you haven't heard of that feature before.
By the way, this post was made on September 14th, 2014 at 14:14:14???

yeah, crazy, i know. That was insanely perfect timing.

As for this, it is possible to make custom cursors. That's actually probably the reason people want this feature. It just seems kind of ghetto to have a really cool custom cursor with the actual real cursor hovering over it. And as for cutscenes, I never actually thought about that. Interesting.
There's a game called Dead Zed 2, and the cursor is a circle with the middle cut out. The bigger the circle, the less accurate the weapon is. I think many scratchers could utilize this, having accuracy being indicated by the cursor.

Support, the mouse cursor can be blocking important animations or costumes, backdrops, and costumes. The mouse cursor can be distracting, and if it could hide, this could add lots of possibilities, such as custom cursors.

Agree, because many games could have say…a mouse changer for example. and there could be games where the mouse is not needed or gets in the way.
