I just recently found out that if you view the discussion forums when you are logged out, it only shows stuff from like 24 hours ago, why is that?

That is because when you are logged in, the website keeps track of what posts you haven't read. I think the site gets confused and thinks you've read all of the posts when you are logged out, or maybe that's on purpose.
